Michael Bublé – 02 Arena – July 13th [Rated*****]

It took many years, countless email notifications alerts, and a very stressful October morning in 2012 to finally bag myself two tickets to a Michael Bublé concert at the O2 Arena in Greenwich – and it was well worth the wait!
Opening for Michael Bublé was Naturally 7, a New York based seven person, all male a capella group, full of tight harmonies and classic tunes. With an infectious stage presence Naturally 7 were the perfect accompaniment, exciting the audience and gearing them up for the long anticipated arrival of the main act.
Michael Bublé’s arrived to a huge instrumental introduction, sliding down the stage in shiny shoes, a dapper tuxedo, and broke flawlessly into ‘Fever’ to screaming gooey eyed women around the arena. Buble continued to play a host of songs; several from his new album, some classic standards and a sprinkling of Bublé’s own pop songs including: It’s A Beautiful Day, Everything, Haven’t Met You Yet and a wonderful arrangement of Home with tear jerking visuals behind him. As expected his vocals throughout the show were powerful yet effortless, and the experience of his exceptional live band made paying the slightly extortionate £170 for two tickets slightly less painful.
I almost cried a river [excuse the pun] at the possibility that my favorite song was not to be included in the show, when Bublé’s reentered donning a sparkly silver suit and encored with the enormous notes of Cry Me A River to an almost wild audience. Buble finished with Save the Last Dance for Me and completed the night with what I naively believed to be a wiring fault, and was in fact Acapella belting out of the final notes of the concert. An unforgettable moment, which had the audience shrieking out in appreciation.
Flirtatious, charming, and welcoming – shaking hands and hugging people as he passes through the crowd, Bublé’s confidence, humor and camaraderie with his band made for a very pleasant experience. This was a truly wonderful show and I felt privileged to be able to appreciate Bublé’s voice live in an arena, as opposed to face up against a television screen. If you are a fan and have yet to experience Buble live in concert, I would strongly recommend it.

Raider Videos – Rudimental Live@ 02 Academy Brixton
Posted: November 6, 2012 by Raider in Alternative, Artist Review, Dance, Live Music, London Venues, Raider VideosTags: 02 Academy Brixton, Arts, Feel the Love, John Newman, Live Music, Music, Review, Rudimental
After a few long hard seconds of pondering…the award for one of the best live music moments this year, has to go to Rudimental – Feel the Love feat John Newman. I am fully prepared to battle the cringeometer to say yes I could feel the love! Rudimental performed several tracks, but their summer smash hit was what the crowd were really waiting for! An epicly powerful feel good track, even the slightly weak live vocals of Mr Newman did not deter the Academy hoards to unleash a final burst of summer dance spirit amidst the impending October chills.

After missing his gigs at countless festivals this year, Maverick Sabre shall evade me no more. The last on my list of must see artists [except from the mighty Michel Buble], I have just purchased tickets to see Maverick Sabre at 02 Academy Brixton, and I am extremely excited. Adding to what is set to be an incredible evening of musical talent, Ms Dynamite, Daley, and Rudimental are also supporting. Review pending…

Headlining the inaugural Pause is ViVa Music star Darius Syrossian. Having grown up influenced by House legends Kenny Dope and DJ Sneak, Darius has gone on to tour every continent while releasing music on some of the world’s leading House/Techno labels such as Get Physical, ViVa Music and 8bit. He consistently charts on Beatport and in DJ Mag’s top 100 tracks with efforts like “I Am The Creator Of Jack” and this summer’s “Freaky D” is sure to be a huge Ibiza hit.
His position within the ViVa Music team sees him present a monthly online radio show, including interviews and guest mixes from world renowned artists, going out to listeners in 30 countries across the world. Plus, this summer he releases his own ViVa Music Mix CD!
With one of the biggest selling releases in the history of 2020 Vision, Burnski was hailed as a prodigy upon first surfacing in the mid 00’s. Since then, he has cemented a solid reputation as an artist erring on the deeper side of the dancefloor, releasing consistently excellent music on labels such as Poker Flat, Dessous and Hot Creations.
We also welcome Glimpse. From the early days of his hugely successful ‘Black Series’ through to the groove-laden tech house of ‘Drifting’ on Planet E and, later, fully pursuing the deep and organic take on house via his Crosstown Rebels singles and album – this musical range has gained him the respect of his peers and culminated in two successive nominations in DJ Magazine’s prestigious ‘Best British Producer’ category.
Mysterious duo Waze & Odyssey (PetFood, Southern Fried) bring the best elements of nineties NY house and garage whilst still sounding totally fresh, W&O have seemingly appeared out of nowhere, clocking up their essential debut EP ‘Ah Baby’ on PetFood.
Casino Times are Joe Spencer and Nick Church from Oxford. They’ve been tearing clubs up recently as well as remixing the likes of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, MJ Cole and Jozif along the way. Ones to watch for summer 2012 and beyond!
