San Diego Trolley (Green Line) - 1/2/15

For many years, every time I visit San Diego, I would always see the San Diego Trolley, but I've never really paid too much attention to this urban, light rail transit system until today. I decided to head down to Downtown San Diego and ride the Trolley on the Green Line to Santee. While riding to Santee, I noticed that the Operator's area / Cab, one at each end of the Trolley, is separated only by a thin wall and two windows and that vision of the tracks is easily possible through these two windows. So once I arrived at Santee, the Eastern terminous of the Green Line, I decided to film the entire Green Line going West all the way from Santee to the 12th and Imperial Transit Center out of the window separating the Cab and the passengers. I decided to film out the rear, rather than the front of the Trolley, as it would give me a full view of the tracks and that it wouldn't bother the Operator in manner. Amazingly, security was also cool about me filming the entire duration of the trip without any problems. The MTS San Diego Trolley system consists of three types of Trolleys, all manufactured my Siemens. The U2, the SD100, and the S70 are the Trolleys that are used by the Metropolitan Transit System of San Diego. The S70 Trollies are currently replacing the older fleet of SD100's and the U2's. Although slightly shorter than its predecssors, the S70 is a definite upgrade in technology and comfort compared to the previous Trollies. The Trolley I rode on was also a Siemens S70.
