Byron O. Thomas, (born March 20, 1969) professionally known by his stage name Mannie Fresh is a hip hop recording artist, record producer and DJ who is best known for his work with Cash Money Records from 1993 to 2005 and one half of the hip hop duo Big Tymers. Mannie Fresh is currently signed to both Def Jam South and his own division company, Chubby Boy Records.
Thomas began loving music at the age of nine as a local New Orleans DJ, playing songs at parties and clubs. In the late 1980s he began a partnership with New Orleans rapper MC Gregory D. They released their first album together Throwdown in 1987, with Mannie Fresh producing and MC Gregory D rapping. They would release two more records together in the late 1980s and early 1990s. After their last album together, in 1993 Thomas met Bryan "Baby" Williams who gave him an opportunity to become the in-house producer of his record label Cash Money Records. With Williams's help, Thomas made chart-topping albums for the Hot Boys, which was composed of Lil Wayne, B.G., Juvenile, and Turk, producing all of the group’s singles. He also produced all tracks on the members’ solo works as well.
A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.
Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. (born September 27, 1982), better known by his stage name Lil Wayne, is an American hip hop recording artist from New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1991, at the age of nine, Lil Wayne joined Cash Money Records as the youngest member of the label, and half of the duo The B.G.'z, alongside fellow New Orleans-based rapper Lil' Doogie. In 1996, Lil Wayne formed the southern hip hop group Hot Boys, with his Cash Money label-mates Juvenile, Young Turk and Lil' Doogie (who now goes by B.G.). Hot Boys debuted with Get It How U Live!, that same year. Most of the group's success came with their platinum-selling album Guerrilla Warfare (1999) and the 1999 single "Bling Bling". Along with being the flagship artist of Cash Money Records, Lil Wayne is also the chief executive officer (CEO) of his own label imprint, Young Money Entertainment, which he founded in 2005.
Lil Wayne's solo debut album Tha Block Is Hot (1999), was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His subsequent albums, Lights Out (2000) and 500 Degreez (2002), went on to be certified gold. Wayne reached higher popularity with his fourth album Tha Carter (2004), which was led by the single "Go D.J." and his appearance on Destiny's Child's Top 10 single "Soldier", that same year. The album was followed by Tha Carter II (2005), as well as several mixtapes and collaborations throughout 2006 and 2007. Wayne gained more prominence with his sixth album Tha Carter III (2008), which became his most successful album to date, with first-week sales of over one million copies in the United States. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and includes the hit singles "Lollipop", "A Milli" and "Got Money".
Cash money could refer to one of the following:
Cash Money Records, Inc. is an American record label founded by brothers Bryan "Birdman" Williams and Ronald "Slim" Williams, who are the CEOs. it is distributed by Republic Records, while used to be Universal Republic. The label includes artists such as Austin Mahone, Nicki Minaj and Caskey, and 2 Chainz.
Cash Money Records was founded in 1991. Bryan Williams told some of his close friends the motivation for starting the label:
For its first few years (1991–1994), Cash Money played host to a number of local releases by artists, selling only one album, without ever releasing a music video or having a Billboard hit. Some of the label's releases garnered some regional success in New Orleans, Louisiana, but the label was little known to the national rap scene. Artists on the label during this period included the group U.N.L.V. (Uptown Niggas Living Violently), Kilo G, Lil Slim, Pimp Daddy, and PxMxWx. In 1995, the label signed young rappers B.G., Young Buck and Lil Wayne. The signees marked what would be the second wave of Cash Money artists. In 1997, B.G. and Lil Wayne formed the group the Hot Boys together with Juvenile (who had already been regionally successful before Cash Money). Although they made little impact outside of the region in the beginning, they became the label's most well-known artists.

Music video by Juvenile performing I Got That Fire. (C) 2000 Cash Money Records Inc.
In the middle of our live interview with Mannie Fresh at NPR's headquarters in D.C., Ali asked Mannie how he approaches DJing — does he play what he wants to hear? Or does he feed the crowd? "When I want you to understand something, I remix it," Mannie said. "If it's Earth Wind and Fire, and you not getting it, I'ma make you get it." Laughing, and speaking for everyone in the room, Ali then asked if he could get a couple of those Mannie Fresh special remixes. "I got you!" said Mannie, and no one in the crowd let him forget it. After we had finished our conversation, and said our thank yous, he walked over to the decks. For the next 20 mins he put New Orleans behind songs by Kenny Chesney, Hall & Oates and Trouble Funk — leading off with his remix of "September," which somehow makes the wa...
In this episode of Rhythm Roulette, Mass Appeal presents Mannie Fresh. Rhythm Roulette is back with four brand new episodes live from The Sprite Corner in New York City. Mannie Fresh, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Exile, and Just Blaze treated fans to an exclusive experience, inviting them to watch as they took our Rhythm Roulette challenge live, followed by an in-depth Q&A; session hosted by Young Guru. Kicking things off is the Louisiana legend Mannie Fresh, who, as Young Guru pointed out, might just be the most prolific producer in hip hop history. Coincidentally, Mannie humbly confirmed that fact by stating that he recently received a call from someone at BMI who was perplexed after discovering he had over 600 published works. After skimming through his three randomly selected records, Mannie...

Juvenile ft. Mannie Fresh Lil Wayne- Back Dat Azz Up(Live)2000
Mannie Fresh, the legendary New Orleans producer and DJ, was our guest for the first live episode of Microphone Check. We taped at NPR's headquarters in Washington, D.C. at the end of May, and the conversation was predictably warm, sharp and funny. Mannie regaled the crowd with stories about Cash Money Records, the making of Juvenile's 400 Degreez, Lil Wayne's career, Mantronix and his dad. And he played us a new song from what he's working on now: an album with Brooklyn rapper Mos Def. What we didn't anticipate happened after we said our thank yous, when Mannie stood up, walked over to the decks and unleashed a spontaneous set of bounce remixes of everything from Hall & Oates to Earth Wind and Fire. Watch until the end to hear those, or download that portion of the evening here. Credits...

[Verse 2:]
I'm in that new SS with the chrome pipes
Or the Hauly truck you know towing the bikes
And don't stare at me wrong if you know I'm right
I'm like fuck a player hater and your ho I might
Wanna take me to war I call G.I. Joe
While G.I. Jane still giving me brain
I don't ever complain I'm to cool for that
Got the Polo Sport Edition wth the shoes to match
I got the blue to black got the white, the red
Got the parachute pants with the pockets big
I don't half step, I don't half ass
I want half check and half cash
When it comes to the tracks I'm a bad man
So if the rap don't sell I still got my hands
Got your girl in the club tyring to do my dance
While I whisper in her ear could you do my mans when
[Chorus: Lil Wayne]
Dude fell off, Then you fell off, Then he fell off, and then the weak fell off
But Wayne's well off and Mannie's well off and the Family's well off
Ay we Cash Money
We stay fre fresh err Fresh
Every day we fre fresh err Fresh
In every way we fre fresh err Fresh
We so heavy we fresh we so err Fresh
[Verse 3:]
I represent the S like I've been doing so long
Now every hood in America know all my songs

Keep it gangsta, keep it real
Sittin low in a coupe yeah coupe deville

I don't mean to brag but I'm straight regardless
All white chevy gravy guts
With the stashbox pimpin yeah custom deluxe
Shorty let your hair out convertible air out
I got the same wheel in my 5th wheel spare mount
Mannie Fresh my truck expands
And I'm a downtown nigga with my nuts in my hand cause
[Chorus: Lil Wayne]
Dude fell off, Then you fell off, Then he fell off, and then the weak fell off
But Wayne's well off and Mannie's well off and the Family's well off

Every day we fre fresh err Fresh
In every way we fre fresh err Fresh
