Chico (cat)

Chico (1995-2012) is a cat who is the narrator of an authorized biography of Pope Benedict XVI.

The illustrated children's book is entitled Joseph e Chico: Un gatto racconta la vita di Papa Benedetto XVI. The Italian original has been translated into English as Joseph and Chico: The Life of Pope Benedict XVI as Told By a Cat.

The character of Chico is based on a real cat, a tabby, who lived in the town of Pentling, Germany, where Joseph Ratzinger had lived for 20 years before moving to Rome as a Cardinal.

Chico was born on April 15, 1995.

The book was written by Jeanne Perego and illustrated by Donata Dal Molin Casagrande. It has an introduction by the Rev. Georg Gänswein, the Pope's personal secretary.

CHICO (construction company)

China Henan International Cooperation Group (commonly known as CHICO) is a Chinese state owned construction and engineering company held by the provincial government of Henan. The construction company is known for being part of the "vanguard of the country's Africa drive".

The company began working in Liberia in 2008. It is one of the major construction companies in Liberia, having worked as project contractor on several large road projects. It was named by GNN, a newspaper in Liberia, as construction company of the year for 2013. In the award citation, CHICO was described as "graded high over the years by Liberians and foreign residents for its professional handling of the construction of Liberia’s damaged bridges and roads."

Awarded in 2012 a K1.1 trillion (US$206 million) contract by the Road Development Agency of Zambia to design and construct the 175 kilometres (109 mi) Mansa-Luwingu road.

Awarded in 2012 a US$34.5 million (UGX:89 billion) contract to construct the 74 kilometres (46 mi) Gulu-Atiak section of the Gulu-Nimule Road, a joint project of the World Bank and the Government of Uganda.

Francisco José Castro Fernandes (born 18 September 1981 in Vila Nova de Famalicão), commonly known as Chico, is a Portuguese footballer who plays for F.C. Famalicão as a striker.

Megamix

A megamix is a medley remix containing multiple songs in rapid succession. There may be only one verse or even just a brief chorus of each song used, sometimes in addition to samples of the same or other songs. To unify the songs together smoothly, a single backing beat may be added as background throughout the megamix, although this is not a must. This backing beat is kept basic so as to simplify mixing and to not compete with the music. These mixes are usually several minutes long at minimum, going up to a half-hour or an hour, or even more sometimes.

Ultimix is known for "flashback medleys" producing at least one or two every year based on popular songs of the year. Each is about 15 minutes long, usually with at least that many songs if not more.

"Album megamixes" feature all tracks from a particular album edited and compiled into one continuous medley. The "artist megamix" is also popular, including songs spanning a musician's career, with prolific artists such as Michael Jackson having more than one, usually from different remixers. Duran Duran created a megamix single from their own hits for the 1990 greatest-hits album Decade: Greatest Hits. Subsequently, artists such as Madonna, Britney Spears, and Janet Jackson have also released megamixes as singles in order to promote their greatest hits albums or in the latter's case, studio album. Many megamixes are bootlegs.

Mate Bulić

Mate Bulić ( pronunciation ; born 18 February 1957) is a Herzegovinian pop and folk singer, whose songs are influenced by his native Herzegovina region. He lives in Frankfurt.

Biography

Bulić finished his schooling in Čitluk and at Mostar, where he graduated in electrical engineering. However, he decided not to pursue a teaching job in Mostar and moved to Frankfurt where he married and began a family. It was not until later that he began to develop his music career. Although always interested in music, it was not until the early 1990s that he began recording, and in 1994 his first album was released.

Bulić is known for using numerous elements of traditional Croatian music which he incorporates into his music, such as the use of the lijerica and the singing of ganga. Because his traditional music is widely enjoyed by Croatian diaspora, he has been given the nickname "King of the Diaspora". Bulić has collaborated with many Croatian artists, most notably his friends Miroslav Škoro and Marko Perković, who has written some of his recent songs. The three are known as "The Three Godfathers" in Croatia.
