A full moon is the lunar phase that occurs when the Moon is completely illuminated as seen from the Earth. This occurs when the moon is in opposition to the Sun (when it is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun; more precisely, when the ecliptic longitudes of the Sun and Moon differ by 180 degrees). This means that the hemisphere of the Moon that is facing the Earth (the near side) is almost fully illuminated by the Sun and appears round (while the far side is almost completely unilluminated).
Lunar eclipses can occur only at full moon, where the Moon's orbit allows it to pass through the Earth's shadow. Lunar eclipses do not occur every month because the Moon usually passes above or below the Earth's shadow (which is mostly restricted to the ecliptic plane). Lunar eclipses can occur only when the full moon occurs near the two nodes of the orbit, either the ascending or descending node. This causes eclipses to only occur about every 6 months, and often 2 weeks before or after a solar eclipse at new moon at the opposite node.
Full Moon Fever is the first solo album by Tom Petty, though it features contributions from members of his backing band the Heartbreakers, notably Mike Campbell, along with Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and George Harrison of the Traveling Wilburys. The record shows Petty exploring his musical roots with nods to his influences. The songwriting is mainly collaborations between Petty and Lynne, who was also a producer on the album. The album became a commercial and critical success peaking at number three on the US Billboard 200 and being certified 5× platinum in the United States and 6× platinum in Canada.
Having earlier in the year finished a Heartbreakers tour behind the album Let Me Up (I've Had Enough), Petty decided to record a solo album without the Heartbreakers (similar to the arrangement between Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band at the time). This stirred some controversy among members of the Heartbreakers, although all but drummer Stan Lynch contributed to the album. Benmont Tench and Howie Epstein initially weren't happy about playing the Full Moon Fever songs live during Heartbreakers concerts. Stan Lynch hated playing them right up until his departure from the band, saying it made him feel like he was in a cover band.

Thomas Earl Petty (born October 20, 1950) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. He is best known as the lead singer of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, but is also known as a member and co-founder of the late 1980s supergroup the Traveling Wilburys (under the pseudonyms of Charlie T. Wilbury, Jr. and Muddy Wilbury) and Mudcrutch.
He has recorded a number of hit singles with the Heartbreakers and as a solo artist, many of which remain heavily played on adult contemporary and classic rock radio. His music has been classified as rock and roll, heartland rock and even stoner rock. His music, and notably his hits, have become popular among younger generations as he continues to host sold-out shows. Throughout his career, Petty has sold more than 80 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. In 2002, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Moon (in Greek: σελήνη Selene, in Latin: Luna) is Earth's only natural satellite. It is one of the largest natural satellites in the Solar System, and, among planetary satellites, the largest relative to the size of the planet it orbits (its primary). It is the second-densest satellite among those whose densities are known (after Jupiter's satellite Io).
The Moon is thought to have formed approximately 4.5 billion years ago, not long after Earth. There are several hypotheses for its origin; the most widely accepted explanation is that the Moon formed from the debris left over after a giant impact between Earth and a Mars-sized body called Theia.
The Moon is in synchronous rotation with Earth, always showing the same face with its near side marked by dark volcanic maria that fill between the bright ancient crustal highlands and the prominent impact craters. It is the second-brightest regularly visible celestial object in Earth's sky after the Sun, as measured by illuminance on Earth's surface. Although it can appear a very bright white, its surface is actually dark, with a reflectance just slightly higher than that of worn asphalt. Its prominence in the sky and its regular cycle of phases have, since ancient times, made the Moon an important cultural influence on language, calendars, art, and mythology.

Our Full Moon Fever Soul Smash! After a whirlwind romance of twenty years our young lovers found themselves holed up in remote apartment in one of Tulum, Mexico's rustic back roads. A far away blizzard became a blessing in disguise as it forced our heroes to delay their flight home to Maryland, they weren’t ready to face the world yet anyway. With their heads still split open and abuzz from the magical Phish shows that rocked the sandy beaches of the Riviera Maya, the two decided to finally tie the knot. Mark and Sara’s hearts swelled with the full moon - ready to burst. But how to go about it. With empty pocketbooks they had no idea how to arrange nuptials in a foreign land on a shoestring budget. They pushed the idea from their thoughts and set out to tour the Mayan ruins, but fort...

Holi (referred to as Phagwa in Bhojpuri), also called the Festival of Colours, is a popular Hindu spring festival observed in India, Guyana, Trinidad, and Nepal. In West Bengal, it is known as Dolyatra (Doljatra) or Boshonto Utsav ("spring festival"). On the first day, burning of the demoness Holika, Hiranyakashipu's sister, in huge bonfires at night. It is called Kama dahanam in Andhra Pradesh. On the second day, known as Dhulheti, people spend the day throwing coloured powder and water at each other. The spring season, during which the weather changes, is believed to cause viral fever and cold. Thus, the playful throwing of the coloured powders has a medicinal significance: the colours are traditionally made of Neem, Kumkum, Haldi, Bilva, and other medicinal herbs prescribed by Āyurved...
Written & Directed by Michael Santoro After spending time with Chantefable Master Yang Hsiu-ching in her village in Taiwan in the summer of 2005, Michael Santoro created a short film about the life and music of this native Taiwanese legend who was born in Chu Qi, Xin Tien District of Taiwan in 1934. When she was three years old her family moved to another village where her father sold popsicles and balloons to support them. At age four, she developed a cold with a fever, not normally a serious condition, but because of the family's poverty they sought the help of an untrained doctor who prescribed an informal cure. By the time she got to the real doctor she was already blind. Since then she has lived her life in darkness. Because education for the blind was at that time not widely avail...

Signed, sealed, delivered ; here I am. And there you are. Please take a seat. Thank you. As I was preparing for this message I had a dream on Thursday morning. It was kind of a nightmare. There was no band, no production crew. But in fact that dream was false, right? You’re all here today. The band is here, the production crew is here, the guest greeters are here. The 10-minute version will be shown on the big screen at Shoemaker this Saturday night. We'll also try to do a semi-live version, with some surprises sitting in. Here are the original liner notes to this song: The lover breaks out of an affair to experiment elsewhere, and the lover's partner is more surprised than hurt or betrayed. There is a new passion between the lovers because of this dance outside the boundaries of a relationship. The lovers then see each other in a new light. This song, Namaste Papi, is part of the Moonlight Project, created by Peter Fox and Seanie Blue, and produced by Fox, Blue and Sandra Bishop and Steve McCormick. It is one of 13 base songs, each of which have up to a dozen variations. The Project will eventually have more than 100 songs in its collection. Writ...

I ain't ever gonna let you down
All you gotta do is trust me
I would never make you some clown
Baby why won't you trust me
You give up so easily, I don't know why you can't see
I'm depending on you, don't let me down
I'm depending on you
Baby if you can't change the world
Maybe you should just change yourself
You used to be such a sweet young girl
Why you wanna be someone else?
You give up so easily
I don't know why you can't see
I'm depending on you
Is it too late now?
I'm depending on you
