There would rarely be a tech enthusiast who didn’t know about the founders of one of the world’s largest companies Google. From a search engine to begin with, the company went on to make several products, and even the biggest smartphone operating system, Android. Larry Page, the co-founder of Google was the CEO of Google and its products, while Sergey Brin, the other co-founder was the President of the company.
Now, the management gets shuffled, not largely but for someone who has been extensively working to make it better, it does. Sundar Pichai, the Senior Vice President of products (Android, Chrome and Apps) at Google is now the CEO of Google. Reason? Larry and Sergey have made a new company, Alphabet Inc., and Google will be one of the companies being run by the new entity.

Google will become Alphabet!
The decision was made by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin whom are well known for thinking big.
Why are Google's founders creating a new company?
Google started as a company that built a search engine,but over years, Google became more than that. Some of Google's products we use every day became possible only with their engineers hard work, 25,000 engineers to be exact, but for Page and Brin this is not enough.
The founders of Google believe that there are too many products they sell under the same name,Google. They believe that all their products, including Gmail, YouTube, Android, and even their more ambitious projects, such as Calico, Google's longevity program, or even Ventures and Capital, Google's investemnt arm, should be developing under one holding company, in our case Alphabet.
Page and Brin believe, that every project require different types of leaders, different company cultures and different types of resources.
"We’ve long believed that over time companies tend to get comfortable doing the same thing, just making incremental changes,"
Page wrote in his blog post announcing the change.
"But in the technology industry, where revolutionary ideas drive the next big growth areas, you need to be a bit uncomfortable to stay relevant."
Who is Google's new CEO?
Google's new CEO is Sundar Pichai, who has been at the company since 2004. Last year, a management shakeup made him Larry Page's top deputy. Fortune explained Pichai's rise through the ranks in a 2014 article.
Page wrote today.
"Sundar has been saying the things I would have said (and sometimes better!) for quite some time now, and I’ve been tremendously enjoying our work together,"
"He has really stepped up since October of last year, when he took on product and engineering responsibility for our Internet businesses."
Page will be the CEO of Alphabet, and Brin will be its president. Page hopes the reorganization will allow him and Brin to focus on the big picture. But their announcement isn't very clear about what exactly that means.
"Our model is to have a strong CEO who runs each business, with Sergey and me in service to them as needed,"
Page wrote.
"We will rigorously handle capital allocation and work to make sure each business is executing well."
Brin says.
"We are not intending for this to be a big consumer brand with related products," "The whole point is that Alphabet companies should have independence and develop their own brands."
How will Alphabet be structured?
From a shareholder perspective, Alphabet is just the new name for the company that used to be called Google. Google shares will become Alphabet shares, and existing Google shareholders will continue to hold a stake in all of the Alphabet companies.
How will this affect me as a Google user?
In the short run, it won't affect you at all. Most of the popular Google products you probably use every day will stay under the Google umbrella and will continue to operate the way they always have.

Sundar Pichai
Pichai Sundararajan (born 1972), better known as Sundar Pichai is the Chief Executive Officer of Google Inc. Formerly Product Chief at Google, Pichai's current role was announced on August 10, 2015, as part of the restructuring process which made Alphabet Inc. into Google's parent company. He assumed the position upon the completion of the process on October 2, 2015.
Early life and education
Pichai was born in Chennai,Tamil Nadu, India, in a Tamil family to Lakshmi and Regunatha Pichai. He spent his childhood in Madras (now Chennai). His father was a senior electrical engineer in General Electric and managed a factory that made electrical components. Sundar grew up in a two-room apartment on 46th Street, 7th Avenue, in Ashok Nagar, Chennai. Sundar completed his Class X at Jawahar Vidyalaya, Ashok Nagar Chennai and completed the Class XII from Vana Vani school located in the IIT, Chennai. Pichai earned his degree from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in Metallurgical Engineering. He holds an M.S. from Stanford University in Material Sciences and Engineering and a MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was named a Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar, respectively.

The decision was made by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin whom are well known for thinking big.
Why are Google's founders creating a new company?
Google started as a company that built a search engine,but over years, Google became more than that. Some of Google's products we use every day became possible only with their engineers hard work, 25,000 engineers to be exact, but for Page and Brin this is not enough.
The founders of Google believe that there are too many products they sell under the same name,Google. They believe that all their products, including Gmail, YouTube, Android, and even their more ambitious projects, such as Calico, Google's longevity program, or even Ventures and Capital, Google's investemnt arm, should be developing under one holding company, in our case Alphabet.
Page and Brin believe, that every project require different types of leaders, different company cultures and different types of resources.
"We’ve long believed that over time companies tend to get comfortable doing the same thing, just making incremental changes,"
Page wrote in his blog post announcing the change.
"But in the technology industry, where revolutionary ideas drive the next big growth areas, you need to be a bit uncomfortable to stay relevant."
Who is Google's new CEO?
Google's new CEO is Sundar Pichai, who has been at the company since 2004. Last year, a management shakeup made him Larry Page's top deputy. Fortune explained Pichai's rise through the ranks in a 2014 article.
Page wrote today.
"Sundar has been saying the things I would have said (and sometimes better!) for quite some time now, and I’ve been tremendously enjoying our work together,"
"He has really stepped up since October of last year, when he took on product and engineering responsibility for our Internet businesses."
Page will be the CEO of Alphabet, and Brin will be its president. Page hopes the reorganization will allow him and Brin to focus on the big picture. But their announcement isn't very clear about what exactly that means.
"Our model is to have a strong CEO who runs each business, with Sergey and me in service to them as needed,"
Page wrote.
"We will rigorously handle capital allocation and work to make sure each business is executing well."
Brin says.
"We are not intending for this to be a big consumer brand with related products," "The whole point is that Alphabet companies should have independence and develop their own brands."
How will Alphabet be structured?
From a shareholder perspective, Alphabet is just the new name for the company that used to be called Google. Google shares will become Alphabet shares, and existing Google shareholders will continue to hold a stake in all of the Alphabet companies.
How will this affect me as a Google user?

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL): Apple as everyone knows was the darling of hedge funds and big mutual funds. Those days have changed now as it is no longer considered a growth stock, in fact, the feeling is that it recently lost out in the innovation game. The smartphone which is the core income producer for Apple suddenly looks old and dated compared to several of its Android competitors. Without innovation or its next greatest product, Apple is going to become very much like an IBM or a Microsoft - a large company with not much prospect of growing in the future. Two or three weeks ago legendary investor Warren Buffett purchased $1 billion with the Apple's stock. Yes, I know it is old news, but you have to remember that Mr. Buffett is a long-term investor. Is he going to right about this stock? Only time will tell. I still believe that the path for growth for Apple is with another must have product. If they cannot come up with a killer must have product, it will more than likely be forced to purchase companies for growth and innovation.
Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN): Jeff Bezos named his company Amazon after the largest river by discharge in the world the mighty Amazon river which runs 3,977 miles through South America. It looks like Jeff did a good job in naming his company as it is arguably the largest commerce site on the Internet today. In fact, it is predicted that by 2020 one out of every five dollars spent by consumers will be spent on Amazon. I will be looking at this stock today to see whether perhaps it is running out of gas or resting to go higher.
Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG): The stock formerly known as Google derives most of its income from advertising and search functions. In fact, the company has had a hard time finding another winner and has had a number of failures including Google glass which went nowhere. I will be looking at this stock today and analyzing why it is down 5% for the year so far.
In addition to the three A's, I will be analyzing the major indices, gold and crude oil which is very strong today.

The company would consist of Google, Nest Labs, and Calico, as well as other businesses including X, Google Capital, and GV. The technical team and animators found new ways to render fur and cloth realistically for the film. Randy Newman, who composed the music for Pixar's three prior films, returned to compose its fourth.
Monsters Inc. was Randy Newman's fourth feature film collaboration with Pixar. The end credits song "If I Didn't Have You" was sung by John Goodman and Billy Crystal.[6]
The album was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Score and a Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.[39] The score lost both these awards to The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, but after sixteen nominations, the song "If I Didn't Have You" finally won Newman his first Academy Award for Best Original Song.[39] It also won a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media.[39]

Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin interviewed Schmidt. Impressed by him,[25] they recruited Schmidt to run their company in 2001 under the guidance of venture capitalists John Doerr and Michael Moritz.
In March 2001, Schmidt joined Google's board of directors as chairman, and became the company's CEO in August 2001. At Google, Schmidt shared responsibility for Google's daily operations with founders Page and Brin. Prior to the Google initial public offering, Schmidt had responsibilities typically assigned to the CEO of a public company and focused on the management of the vice presidents and the sales organization.[26] According to Google, Schmidt's job responsibilities included "building the corporate infrastructure needed to maintain Google's rapid growth as a company and on ensuring that quality remains high while the product development cycle times are kept to a minimum."[27]
Upon being hired at Google, Eric Schmidt was paid a salary of $250,000 and an annual performance bonus. He was granted 14,331,703 shares of Class B common stock at $0.30 per share and 426,892 shares of Series C preferred stock at purchase price of $2.34.

As an intern at Bell Labs, Schmidt did a complete re-write of Lex, a program to generate lexical analysers for the Unix computer operating system. From 1997 to 2001, he was chief executive officer of Novell. From 2001 to 2011, he served as the CEO of Google. He served on various other boards in academia and industry, such as the boards of trustees for both Carnegie Mellon University and Princeton University.
Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin interviewed Schmidt. Impressed by him,[25] they recruited Schmidt to run their company in 2001 under the guidance of venture capitalists John Doerr and Michael Moritz.
In March 2001, Schmidt joined Google's board of directors as chairman, and became the company's CEO in August 2001. At Google, Schmidt shared responsibility for Google's daily operations with founders Page and Brin. Prior to the Google initial public offering, Schmidt had responsibilities typically assigned to the CEO of a public company and focused on the management of the vice presidents and the sales organization.[26] According to Google, Schmidt's job responsibilities included "building the corporate infrastructure needed to maintain Google's rapid growth as a company and on ensuring that quality remains high while the product development cycle times are kept to a minimum."[27]
Upon being hired at Google, Eric Schmidt was paid a salary of $250,000 and an annual performance bonus. He was granted 14,331,703 shares of Class B common stock at $0.30 per share and 426,892 shares of Series C preferred stock at purchase price of $2.34.
