This has a deeper bass than an 18" speaker, it gets the job done by being front loaded and tuned, so it provides a small amount of tight kick and extra sub frequencies. It lets the audience know there is a professional sound but not sure how. It's all up to preference of what kind of bass you want when purchasing a speaker like this.
