Here is a live test - https://youtu.be/VPlD1RBgDuI This speaker sounds powerful up close then opens up around 15ft, and can be felt and heard all the way to 500ft. This has a deeper bass than an 18" speaker, it gets the job done by being front loaded and tuned, so it provides a small amount of tight kick and extra sub frequencies. It lets the audience know there is a professional sound but not sure how. It's all up to preference of what kind of bass you want when purchasing a speaker like this. Pros- - Loud/thunderous has a Profession sound about it - Very durable/rugged - Built in wheels for transportation - Many well placed carrying handles - Power amp is very efficient Cons- - shatters tile it sits on if not protected - Shatters older windows in old building - Can't be turned past 1 in Churches - It seems to have slight distortion when turned up, but many do so as long as yo learn your speaker that shouldn't be much of an issue, and that may go away after it breaks in, Iv'e had speakers distort until broke in in the past. I'm learning that subs really do have a break in period, as I use this sub more it seems to loosen up. I believe that the 21" is less punchy than the 18" but not by much, it actually can be adjusted to be punchy or smooth there is a special knob for that and yes it is naturally smoother and much much deeper. I'm not sure how heavy the 18" is but I know that the size and weight of the 21" can be an issue if needed to carry up stairs, We do the stairs but it's very difficult, I think it's worth it though just to see the reaction on people faces when you turn it up. I think the 21" has a certain professional feel to it that people usually aren't used to like the 18's, they know it's different but not sure how. I never owned the 18" Yorkville but have owned several 18" subs, so I can't really compare the two Yorvilles in that aspect.
