My Everything (The Grace song)

"My Everything" was Grace's 3rd single under the SM Entertainment, released on November 6, 2006. Unlike previous singles, which consisted of R&B/dance tracks, the lead song from the single was a ballad and accompanied by a softer image. To signal the change, the group's name was changed to "TSZX the Grace", which each member adding the suffix to their own stage names as well. The music video for "My Everything" featured Kim Kibum of Super Junior as the male lead and YoonA of Girls' Generation as the female lead.

In addition to the lead ballad "열정 (My Everything)", the single included a cover of George Michael's single "Faith".

Although promoted, the single debuted at #30 on the Music Industry Association of Korea's November 2006 charts, with 2,447 copies sold.

My Everything (Anita Baker album)

My Everything is the sixth studio album by Anita Baker, released on September 7, 2004. The album debuted at #4 on the US Billboard 200 selling 132,000 copies in its first week. As of May 2005, the album has sold 568,000 copies in the US and been certified Gold by the RIAA.

It was Baker's first album for Blue Note Records and her first album of new material in ten years. For her comeback album, Baker wanted to be "in control" of everything, and once again teamed up with Barry J. Eastmond and George Duke. Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds also contributed. Most of the tracks were cut live (meaning the band played while Baker sang).

Baker wrote or co-wrote eight of the album's ten tracks. The last track, "Men in My Life" was written for her husband and two sons.

The Bar-Kays

The Bar-Kays are an American soul, R&B, and funk group formed in 1966. The group had dozens of charting singles from the 1960s to the 1980s, including "Soul Finger" (US Billboard Hot 100 number 17, R&B number 3) in 1967, "Son of Shaft" (R&B number 10) in 1972, and "Boogie Body Land" (R&B number 7) in 1980.

History

The Bar-Kays began in Memphis, Tennessee, as a studio session group, backing major artists at Stax Records. In 1967 they were chosen by Otis Redding to play as his backing band and were tutored for that role by Al Jackson, Jr., Booker T. Jones, and the other members of Booker T. & the M.G.'s. Their first single, "Soul Finger", was issued on April 14, 1967, reaching number 3 on the US Billboard R&B Singles chart and number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100. On December 10, 1967, Redding and four members of the band—Jimmie King (born June 8, 1949; guitar), Ronnie Caldwell (born 1948; electric organ), Phalon Jones (born 1949; saxophone), and Carl Cunningham (born 1949; drums)—and their valet, Matthew Kelly, died when their airplane plunged into Lake Monona, near Madison, Wisconsin, while attempting to land at Truax Field. Redding and the band were scheduled to play their next concerts in Madison. Trumpeter Ben Cauley was the only survivor of the crash. Bassist James Alexander was on another plane, as the plane carrying Redding held only seven passengers. Cauley and Alexander rebuilt the group.
