Mees, kes käis kõrbes kosmonautidega kalal
Meisterlaulja on lahkunud.
Mina olen”.
Puhka rahus, kallis sõber!

Jaak Joala (26 June
1950 —
25 September 2014)
was an
Estonian singer and music teacher.
Joala is considered a legend in the music world.
He began his career as a musician with Kristalllid (eng. trans.
The Crystals) in
1967. In autumn
1968, he was hired by the bass player and lead singer Toivo Kurmet from the popular band Virmalised (
Northern Lights). With Virmalised, he sang several of Kurmet's songs: "Taas on päev" ("
Once again the day"), "Naer" ("
Laughter"), "Ainult sul" ("Only you have"), "Ma ei tea miks" ("I don't know why"), and "Üksinda" ("
Alone"). In addition, Joala introduced
Western music to Estonian and
Soviet audiences by singing them in Estonian.
Paap Kõlar, Joala's bandmate from their days with the band
Radar remembers that eventually Joala grew tired of performing, saying that Goskontsert, the Soviet entertainment agency, demanded that he perform, and Kõlar suggested that there wasn't much choice as to whether Joala really wanted to perform or not.
Musician mr. Riho Sibul: After his death, we have heard opinions that it ended up with him an era.
Perhaps it would be more correct to think that it started with him instead - after all, he came in the wake of the sixties
Ivo Linna, Tönis magic,
Gunnar Graps and many others. Jaak Joala "paved the way for all the other artists who came after him," basically just Jaak Joala was.
Jaak Joalal was extraordinary musical talent, style and taste. He knew and loved the music, but to love themselves in the music.
Independent personality. Very professional. Although he played decent levels of several musicians, however, was his primary instrument is the voice, and he was always perfect. He sang as a musician, not as a singer - said that Nat King Cole - and so can be said of Jaak Joala
..

Jaak Joala went on a tour in
Ireland, and from time to time he attended major rock concerts, festivals, and among festivities hosted
Rock Summer, and the
Rolling Stones tour.
Later, Joala suddenly gave up singing, devoting additional time to being a teacher, producer and TV and radio host. In his last decade of life, Joala was extremely reclusive, and many old friends were unable to meet him again. He was also very protective of his private life and gave very few interviews to media.
