ST. LOUIS • A Dellwood man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for a 2013 murder of a man at a MetroLink platform in downtown St. Louis.
Akira Edmonds, 28, of the first block of South Floridale Drive in Dellwood, pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting death of a man at the Arch-Laclede's Landing MetroLink platform.
Charles Campbell, 33, of East St. Louis, died after being shot in the chest and groin about 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 12, 2013. Court records said the two had gone out together that night and got into an argument. Edmonds followed Campbell down the MetroLink platform and shot him, the court documents say.
Edmonds was originally charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
