There's a whole bunch of people out there who seem to think that the rapidly approaching 2016 Olympics are going to totally suck based on a number of factors, like the outbreak of the Zika virus in the home country (Brazil), the host city's (Rio de Janeiro) declaration of financial emergency, and police at a local airport who told incoming tourists they're on their own if they run into trouble.
All that being said, the above video shows a guy in Joinville, Brazil, sprinting up to a runner carrying the Olympic flame and trying his best to put it out with a fire extinguisher. The footage can be seen as a metaphor, depending on your outlook on life, of either the impending trainwreck that you think the events will be or of proof that no amount of chaos can ruin the spirit of the Olympics.

We had a BLAST making the Olympics video with Shonduras. This Torch was actually used by someone in Brazil and carried the Olympic flame in it!!! We are excited to watch the opening ceremonies for Rio 2016 Olympics August 5th to see the caldron light with a torch like this one.
Collaborating with great creators like Shonduras is always a pleasure for us and brings out some great content. Thanks to Shonduras for working hard with us on this project.

Olympic flame
The Olympic flame is a symbol of the Olympic Games. Commemorating the theft of fire from the Greek god Zeus by Prometheus, its origins lie in ancient Greece, where a fire was kept burning throughout the celebration of the ancient Olympics. The fire was introduced at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, and it has been part of the modern Olympic Games ever since. In contrast to the Olympic flame proper, the torch relay of modern times, which transports the flame from Greece to the various designated sites of the games, had no ancient precedent and was introduced by Carl Diem at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.
Usage
The Olympic Torch today is ignited several months before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games at the site of the ancient Olympics in Olympia, Greece. Eleven women, representing the Vestal Virgins, perform a celebration at the Temple of Hera in which the torch is kindled by the light of the Sun, its rays concentrated by a parabolic mirror. The torch briefly travels around Greece via short relay, and then starts its transfer to the host city after a ceremony in the Panathinaiko Stadium in Athens.

We had a BLAST making the Olympics video with Shonduras. This Torch was actually used by someone in Brazil and carried the Olympic flame in it!!! We are excited to watch the opening ceremonies for Rio 2016 Olympics August 5th to see the caldron light with a torch like this one.

Rio 2016 Paralympic Marcia Malsar falls gets back up after dropping torch in Opening Ceremony In an inspirational sequence, Marcia Malsar fell and dropped her torch, got back up and finished her relay leg during the Rio Paralympic Opening Ceremony on Thursday night. Most eyes in the Maracanã were on Malsar, a four-time 1980s Paralympic track medalist for Brazil who reportedly has cerebral palsy, as she carried the Olympic flame in the rain during the final stages of the torch relay. Malsar had the flame in her left hand and her cane in her right. When she fell, aides rushed toward her. Malsar got up and, after the initial help of those aides, finished her leg to hand off to the penultimate torch bearer. The large crowd in the iconic stadium roared with applause.

In this minecraft tutorial I teach you how to build a working Olympic Torch that can be used to officially kick off your own Olympic Games or server competitions!
This Redstone design works with a simple press of a button! All you need to do is load the dispenser with fire charges, press the button, and your torch will be lit along with an awesome sound effect! It even has a button on the back to put out the flame so you can have a proper end to your games, or even light the Olympic Torch all over again! You could incorporate this into an Olympic Park or and server-wide competition, but it can also be used for other means as well. Maybe you want a unique way to light up your base? Or how about using it as a final touch to an epic wall? Maybe even connect it to work with a light sensor to automatically light the torch at night?!?! The possibilities are endless! :D
The basic component of this redstone tutorial and build is a compact item dispenser powered by a redstone torch tower and a button. When you press the button, you will activate the dispenser to shoot a fire charge into the above nether rack creating the look of a burning fire. This design currently works in Minecraft 1.10 and above, but should also work in most of the older versions as well.

It even has a button on the back to put out the flame so you can have a proper end to your games, or even light the Olympic Torch all over again! You could incorporate this into an Olympic Park or and server-wide competition, but it can also be used for other means as well. Maybe you want a unique way to light up your base? Or how about using it as a final touch to an epic wall? Maybe even connect it to work with a light sensor to automatically light the torch at night?!?! The possibilities are endless! :D
The basic component of this redstone tutorial and build is a compact item dispenser powered by a redstone torch tower and a button. When you press the button, you will activate the dispenser to shoot a fire charge into the above nether rack creating the look of a burning fire. This design currently works in Minecraft 1.10 and above, but should also work in most of the older versions as well.

The hockey player & ambassador for Sochi 2014 Olympic Game, Alexander Ovechkin traveled to Olympia to participate in the Olympic Flame Lighting Ceremony and the start of the Olympic Torch Relay. As part of the ceremony, upon the invitation of Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee, Ovechkin was the first Russian, and second person to carry the Olympic flame.
Traditionally, the Olympic Torch Relay commences in Ancient Olympia, Greece, where, historically, the Olympic Flame was lit on the eve of the ancient Olympic Games. The event serves as a reminder to athletes and fans the heroism of Prometheus who stole the symbol of life from the gods to give to people.
As part of the Ceremony, a theatrical performance will take place in the ruins of the ancient Temple of Hera. During the performance, priestesses ask the Gods for permission to light the flame.
The Olympic Torch is always lit using the sun's rays, reflected on a large parabolic mirror which is used to symbolize the approval of the Gods to host the Olympic Games. If the weather is cloudy, the Flame is lit using the Flame obtained during the Ceremony rehearsal conducted the day before.
The renowned Greek actress, Ino Menegaki, will play the role of the High Priestess and will ask the Greek God Apollo to send the sun's rays to earth to light the Flame, and Zeus to crown the winners of the Games with laurel wreaths. The Priestess will then light the Olympic torch from the sun's rays and pass the torch, and an olive branch signifying peace, to the first Relay torchbearer, the Greek alpine skier Giannis Antoniou. The Olympic Flame then will be passed to one of the most celebrated Russian athletes, the ice hockey player Alexander Ovechkin. He will be the first Russian torchbearer of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Torch Relay.
The Relay then begins its journey across Greece, which will see 250 torchbearers carry the Flame 2,000 kilometers through 33 towns and 23 regions of Greece over the course of a week. Torchbearers of the Greek Relay leg include Olympic gymnastics champion Ioannis Melissanidis, Olympic silver high jump medalist Niki Bakogianni, and Olympic bronze pole vault medal winner Georgios Roubanis.
The Greek leg of the Relay will culminate in a ceremony on 5 October in the Panathenaikos stadium in Athens, which hosted the first modern Games in 1896, during which the Flame will be entrusted to the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee by the Greek figure skater Panagiotis. The next day, the Olympic Flame will travel to Moscow where it will begin its journey across Russia in the largest relay in the country's history

This report update, continues ritual observations already made in previous reports and expands existing material into the newest observations made regarding Prince, the Queen and King observations.
These elements and more will be discussed regarding the events of the days leading to April 21, 2016, when Prince died as a ritual sacrifice, and when the Queen celebrated her 90th birthday, which was also when the Olympics Flame was produced in Greece, by the Olympic committee group, in a special ritual ceremony, for the Brazil Rio Games, set for later this year in Brazil, Rio De Janeiro, from August 5, to August 21, 2016.

The 1984, Summer Olympic Games was a turning point. With this event, which took place in Los Angeles in the summer of 1984, the Olympics took a new, more commercialized turn — ;these Games were the beginning of the modern sponsorshop age. While the Games had had sponsorships before (even as far back as 1908), these Games were so profitable for L.A. Olympic Committee that they had a surplus of over 200 million dollars after the event was over — which has continued to be used to support children's athletics programs ever since. In 1984, there were 34 official sponsors, 64 companies had "supplier" rights, and 65 companies were licensees. The incredibly-detailed post-1984 Olympic Games report gives a breakdown for everything about these particular Games you ever needed to know — it runs thousands of pages. The 1984 torch relay was sponsored by AT&T;, and was the very first to charge runners to participate, with fees of around $3K per kilometer (both decisions made by the L.A. Olympic Committee). But all $11 million raised by the relay went to kids' athletics charities. The relay was meant to be egalitarian, and any runner who could raise the money—through bake sales or whatnot—could run, and did. Children, moms, firemen, amateur-class runners, even Bruce Jenner and O.J.Simpson: more than 6,000 individuals carried the torch across 33 states on a 15,000 kilometer route. (The exact route can be found in Volume 1, Part 3 of the 1984 Olympic Report). The torch relay was organized by AT&T;'s PR agency, Burson-Marsteller, and was staffed primarily by volunteers from the Telephone Pioneers organization.
AT&T;'s involvement in the Olympics dates back to the Los Angeles Summer Games in 1932, when a Bell Labs engineer, at the bequest of the head of the U.S. Olympic Committee, designed the "photo-finish"-type camera, which took simultaneous photos of the finish line and of a clock. The camera was precise to the hundredth of a second, and was used notably to determine a particularly close track-and-field race during the 1932 Games.
