2007 Bratach Gorm winner Chris Armstrong plays some of the tunes in his repertoire requiring faster fingerwork, including his own compositions. The pipes are his rather distinctive silver/gold Naills.
Chris Armstrong begins his Portsmouth recital with three 6/8 marches. Chris is one of the top pipers of his generation, described on TV as one of the best musicians in the world. He is a full-time instructor at Glasgow's National Piping Centre, and the Pipe Major of the Grade 1, Scottish Power Pipe Band. Haskellers have been isolating their side-effects from their pure code for decades, but most people write code in languages that allow ad hoc side-effects anywhere.
