The Queensland Premier says it's "Marvel-lous" Brisbane is playing host to Thor: Ragnarok production and has thanked the city for its patience.
Filming for the next instalment in the Marvel franchise began in Brisbane's CBD when Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston arrived on the corner of Mary and Albert Street on Monday about 7.30am.

Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston film scenes for Thor in Brisbane on Monday, taking time out to chat to fans and the media.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk acknowledged the road closures had caused large delays for some motorists during Monday's peak hour and thanked drivers for their patience.
"I think that we have seen here a very clear commitment from my government to get Marvel here to Queensland and what we are seeing now is the opportunity for many people to be spotting some of their favourite stars," she said.
"Never before have we had such a strong list of Hollywood A-listers here on the streets of Brisbane and also filming on the Gold Coast.
"I think it is fantastic that they are here, some of our residents get to spot some of the stars, but a big thank you to the businesses, the commuters for their patience.
"Isn't it marvellous, isn't it wonderful it is being filmed right here in our backyard, I am excited."
The production has seen parts of Brisbane's CBD transformed into the streets of New York City.
Hundreds of people crammed along the barriers eager to get a glimpse of Hemsworth and Hiddleston, who arrived on set for the Thor sequel early Monday morning.
Albert Street and Mary Street closures are expected to cause delays for bus passengers, with diversions and stop closures along bus routes P331, P332, P341, P344, P384, 391, P457 or P458
While Margaret Street will reopen after 11pm on Monday, Albert and Mary Streets were expected to remain closed until the end of the week.
Along with Hemsworth and Hiddleston, Thor: Ragnarok will star Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/the Hulk, Cate Blanchett as Hela and Idris Elba as Heimdall.
Thor: Ragnarok is due for release in November 2017.

- Mary Street: Three-lane closure, Albert to Edward - 4am Saturday to 4am Friday
- Albert Street: Charlotte to Alice - 4pm Sunday to 11pm Monday. Charlotte to Mary - 11pm Monday to 11pm Thursday.
- Margaret Street: George to Edward - 4pm Sunday to 11pm Monday. (Pacific Motorway off-ramp to Margaret Street closed 3am to 11pm Monday).
