Opera Jawa (Requiem from Java) is a 2006 Indonesian-Austrian musical film directed by Garin Nugroho that features traditional Javanese classical music and dance in a setting of opera that is inspired by the "Abduction of Sita" episode from the Ramayana.
The film was commissioned for Peter Sellars' New Crowned Hope festival in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
In addition to music by Rahayu Supanggah, the film features installation art production design by Nanang Rhamat.
Siti (Artika Sari Devi) and Setio (Martinus Miroto) are a married couple living in a small village. They were once dancers in plays depicting the Ramayana, but have since retired from the stage to sell earthenware pottery.
Siti used to play the part of Sita, the wife of Prince Rama, whom Setio portrayed. In an episode from the Ramayana, Siti becomes the object of desire of evil King Ravana and is abducted by him.
The events of the Ramayana are paralleled in the characters' real lives when Ludiro (Eko Supriyanto), a butcher who rules over all the village's business affairs, tries to seduce Siti.

Plot: Ramlee is a down and out Malay boy who can't seem to hold down a job, much to his mother's disappointment. Out of a job and out of money, he stumbles across a challenge by sushi restaurant owner Honda to "eat all you can for free food - within a time limit". Hungry and desperate, Ramlee attempts the challenge, and fails. In compensation, Honda lets Ramlee take a job at the restaurant to pay off his due. Ramlee becomes a member of the Boleh Sushi shop staff, along with Haris and Andy. Ramlee is immediately attracted to Honda's beautiful daughter, Siti, who is half-Japanese and half-Malay. He begins to learn the meaning of having good work, good friends and family. One day he learns that part of his obligation is to take part in the Malaysian Sushi Association Amateur Sumo Wrestling Championships held by the local Japanese owners of sushi restaurants. Whilst taking part in the initial friendly bout, Akira, Siti's ex-boyfriend, humiliates him in public. It is only after that that Ramlee finds out that he had been tricked into working for Boleh Sushi because Honda was desperate for a third member for their team. Ramlee has to make a choice - whether to stay on and fight for Boleh Sushi in the upcoming Championships, or to give up on his new-found family. He decides to step up to the challenge and begins training with the boys for the big fight. He learns the meaning of the word "nokotta" - never give up, the fight is not yet won. He learns that no matter what the result, the honor is in fighting the good fight. Ultimately, Ramlee's challenge is to let go of the excuses he has made for himself, and to fight till the end, no matter what.

Genres: Comedy,Siti don’t have no new year
How's she going to play?
She wanna go out
She wanna scream and shout
She feels like a saturday
Siti looks out the window
The sun shines on her face
But the weatherman says
Its going to rain today
Will her night just fade away?
Don’t give up
Oh Siti don’t give up
For there’s many in the fish bowl
Even if it’s not too large
The jury is out on Siti
How she’s going to plead?
She’s crying on the stands
She raising both her hands
But the judge he looks away
70 days to New Year
24 years in age
One more lonely summer
And Siti will be gone away
