George Henry Dockrell (born 22 July 1992) is an Irish cricketer. Dockrell is right-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler who plays international cricket for Ireland after learning his cricket at Leinster Cricket Club, Dublin. He was a member of the class of 2010 in Gonzaga College, Dublin.
Dockrell has represented Ireland from U-13 level upwards. In 2009, Dockrell was part of Ireland's 2010 U-19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier winning squad. Victory in this tournament allowed Ireland to take part in the 2010 U-19 Cricket World Cup, where Dockrell made his Youth One Day International debut against South Africa U-19s. Dockrell played a further three Youth One Day Internationals in the tournament.
Dockrell made his debut for Ireland A in 2008. The same year he was invited to coaching sessions with Somerset County Cricket Club.
Somerset County Cricket Club were interested in Dockrell since he was 15. On 18 July 2010 it was announced that Somerset had offered Dockrell a two-year contract. Speaking of his aims, Dockrell said "My ambitions are to keep making progress with Ireland, but also to get into a county first team by developing all aspects of my game". Commitment to Ireland's internationals in the Intercontinental Cup limited Dockrell's availability for Somerset towards the end of the 2010 season. He was selected in Ireland's 15-man squad for the 2011 World Cup. During the tournament Dockrell suffered a dislocated shoulder. The rehabilitation period meant he missed much of his first season with Somerset. He featured in a single County Championship match, although his appearances in limited overs games were more frequent, playing in the semi-final of the twenty20 cup and the Champions Trophy.

The ICC World Twenty20 (also referred to as the World T20, and wrongly as the T20 World Cup) is the international championship of Twenty20 cricket. Organised by cricket's governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), the tournament currently consists of 16 teams, comprising all ten ICC full members and six other associate or affiliate members chosen through the World Twenty20 Qualifier. The event has generally been held every two years, although there is a four-year gap between the next two scheduled tournaments (2016 in India and 2020 in Australia). All matches played are accorded Twenty20 International status.
Five tournaments have so far been played, and no team has yet won the tournament on multiple occasions. The inaugural event, the 2007 World Twenty20, was staged in South Africa, and won by India, who defeated Pakistan in the final at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The 2009 tournament took place in England, and was won by the previous runner-up, Pakistan, who defeated Sri Lanka in the final at Lord's. The third tournament was held in 2010, hosted by the countries making up the West Indies cricket team. England defeated Australia in the final in Barbados, which was played at Kensington Oval. The fourth tournament, the 2012 World Twenty20, was held in Asia for the first time, with all matches played in Sri Lanka. The West Indies won the tournament by defeating Sri Lanka in the final, winning its first international tournament since the 2004 Champions Trophy. The fifth tournament, the 2014 ICC World Twenty20, was hosted by Bangladesh, and was won by Sri Lanka, who became the first team to play in three finals.

Having fought hard on day three to get themselves back into this match, Middlesex continued the good work early on day four, only for a disastrous post lunch session with the bat for Middlesex saw all that good work go to waste. Resuming overnight on 38 for 1, Middlesex's Sam Robson and Chris Rogers steadily built their partnership to 78 before Robson was the first to go, LBW to Dockrell for 43, with the total on 105 for 2. Dockrell struck again before lunch to dismiss Chris Rogers, but not before he had reached a well earned half century. Middlesex went into lunch in good shape, on 134 for 3, with little sign of what was to come!
