Sambhal
Sambhal (Hindi: संभल, Urdu: سنبھل) is a city in Uttar Pradesh, India. Sambhal is a Muslim dominated area. It takes 2 hours 40 mins to reach Sambhal and is 158.6 kilometres (98.5 mi) from New Delhi.
Sambhal district, which had population of around 22 lakh, was carved out of Moradabad district in September 2011. It consists of three tehsils — Sambhal and Chandausi, taken from Moradabad, and Gunnaur, taken from Badaun. Sambhal city is famous for its unique kind of horn and bone craft items which is manufactured in Sarai Tarin 4 km away from Sambhal city (but included in Sambhal) which are being exported. Sambhal headquarter is situated in Pawasa Sambhal.
History
Sambhal has a rich history and has been home to several rulers and emperors. It was found in Satyuga. At that time it was a very big city. From the Lodi’s to the Mughal’s, right from the 5th century BC and spanning up to the 16th Century, it has been under the rule of one emperor or the other.
During 5th century BC, Sambhal was home to the Panchal rulers and was subsequently a part of king Ashoka’s empire.

9X Jhakaas
9X Jhakaas (Marathi: 9X झकास) is the first Marathi language music channel, broadcasting from Mumbai, Maharashtra. This channel was launched on 31 October 2011. It now also available worldwide via the internet. It is a pay channel available on Airtel digital TV on channel 547.
The channel is operated by 9X Media, which also operates the Hindi language music channel 9XM, another channel called 9X Jalwa, and the Punjabi music channel 9x Tashan.

The songs in this video describethe story of Jesal Toral from Anjar, a town in Kutch district, which is located in the state of Gujarat, (India).
જેસલ-તોરલની કથા બહુ જાણીતી છે. કચ્છની ધરતીનો કાળો નાગ એટલે જેસલ જાડેજા અને સતી તોરલની લોક કથા આજે પણ એટલી જ લોકપ્રિય છે.
આ લોકકથા છે 14મી સદીના મધ્ય સમયની.
The story of Jesal and Toral is worth knowing, for it is full of romance, folk wisdom and inspiring. It is mid-14th century. Jesal was a very strong and powerful man who was a dacoit. He used to rob and kill people and harass them no end.
Once he was attracted by the mare of high pedigree, 'Tori' of one Bhagat named Sansatiyaji, a well-known person of the Kathi caste. Also he looked forward to snatch away Sansatiyaji's wife, Toral, who was extremely beautiful.
One night when Jesal entered the stable to steal the mare, sensing the presence of a stranger she broke away from the peg and fled to her master. The guards brought her back and pegged her rope to the ground near a hay stalk. It so happened, that Jesal was hiding in the hay stalk and his hand was at the place where the peg was hit. Hearing the moans of pain the king came to the stable and on seeing the dacoit asked him what he had wanted. Jesal said he had come to take away Toral.
Sansatiyaji being a Daani (donor) gave away his Toral- his horse and his wife. Toral being a devoted wife did not question about why she was being sent away.
So, now Jesal took the mare and the wife of Sansatiyaji with him.
As you travel from Kathiawad to Kutch, you have to cross the creek on the way. Jesal and Toral had now seated themselves in a boat for this purpose. On the way there was a great cyclone in the sea. The boat started rocking dangerously. It seemed that it would sink any moment. When Jesal saw Death staring at him in the face from all sides, his ego, his confidence went down crashing. He was truly frightened. His valor evaporated. His inner cowardice came to the fore, and fear began to eat at his heart.
Sati Toral could make this out, and in this delicate moment of Life and Death, she preached him the secrets of life. She pointed out the path of Truth and Goodness. He had a change of heart. The robber who was moved only by physical desires, and disregarded all but his own self, now turned into a follower of goodness and truth. His eyes were now open to the real meaning of life, The words of Sati Toral made him give up saber and instead pick up the 'Ektara' that accompanies the singing of devotional songs. The folk songs that lead this change of heart have remained very popular even today: "Paap taru parkash Jadeja, Dharam taro Sambhal re ... " and "Jesal kari le vichar ... ". These songs embody the folk wisdom and guide the lost soul to the true path of life in this world.

Several towns and villages in Sindh can trace their roots to ancient times, and the village of Manjhand is one of them. Located on the banks of the river Indus in the area of Kacho, the old Manjhand was washed away over the centuries. The present day Manjhand stands on the remains of the old village with a crumbling Shiva temple being the only remaining symbol of Manjhand’s past glory.
An active river harbour, Manjhand prospered from the time of the Talpurs right through to the British period, thanks to its flourishing trade. The traders belonging to the Manjhand Hindu community were known all over the world and their trade spread up to Java, Sri Lanka, Gujarat, Persia, Iraq, Rome, Africa and Europe.
Professor Abdullah Magsi in his book, Sindh-Ji-Tareekh Jo Jadeed Mutaleo, writes that the Hindu communities had built magnificent, tall buildings in the town. According to local legends, there was a beautiful garden known as the ‘Priest’s garden’ and a dharam shaala near the temple. The garden was irrigated by the charkhi or naar — an ancient method of irrigation.
Located 2km north-east from the present-day Manjhand, the temple is approximately 30 feet in length, 25 feet in breadth and 16 feet high. An arched entrance extends from the north-east while detailed brick carvings and beautiful fresco paintings adorn the outer and inner walls of the temple.
The compound wall built with baked bricks surrounding the temple has vanished over the centuries along with the veranda. The beautiful burnt bricks of the temple wall were laid using a gypsum paste or cheeroli.
The construction and the carving on the arches of the inner part of the dome resemble the inner side of Jamia Masjid of Khudabad, Masjid of Samtani and the tomb of Mian Yar Muhammad Kalhoro in Dadu District. The temple walls have several niches which were probably used for sculptures or lamps.
According to locals, the dharam shaala near the temple was used for the lodging and boarding of Hindus who came from other parts of Sindh at the time of the annual fair held at the temple where famous Sindhi singers such as Bhagat Kanwar Ram would perform.
The ancient Shiva temple is a unique monument and a part of our prestigious heritage. It is dilapidated and there is an urgent need to protect and conserve this rich legacy.
