"Larry Flynt straight up crushed a district court judge in one of his many 1980's hearings regarding free speech (1st Amendment Rights). This case is occasionally reviewed today in first year law school Civil Procedure courses, due to its implications regarding personal jurisdiction over a defendant.
During the proceedings, Flynt calls the justices "nothing but nine assholes and one token cun+" (referring to Justice Sandra Day O'Connor).
Chief Justice Warren E. Burger had him arrested for contempt of court, but the charge was later dismissed.
He was first prosecuted on obscenity and organized crime charges in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1976 at the behest of Charles H. Keating Jr., who headed a local anti-pornography committee.
He was sentenced to seven to 25 years and served six days; the sentence was overturned on a technicality. One argument resulting from this case went up to the U.S. Supreme Court ."

Well, history was made today.. but it wasn't all good. The case against Garda Sgt Hanley was thrown out on a technicality, and 'papers' were 'served' on Colm late last night purporting to be a High Court Order preventing the hearing vs Registrar Fintan Murphy going ahead.. This sets a very dangerous precedent - when a valid prosecution can be stopped even before it has begun (the first time in the history of the State) - and where legitimate summonses are completely ignored by the accused! (Apparently - those rules only apply to us!) There were so many barefaced breaches of the law and Court rules today as to beggar belief! The whole set-up was so obviously contrived that the judge was openly jeered at and ridiculed by the public for the best part of an hour. We (the public present) nominated our own judge, who duly took her seat on the bench and continued with business.

"A judge, called a "hater" by Donald Trump for his handling of a lawsuit related to the businessman's Trump University real estate school, has unsealed documents related to the case.
Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee for the Nov. 8 election, is fighting a lawsuit that accuses his school venture of misleading thousands of people who paid up to $35,000 for seminars to learn about the billionaire's real estate investment strategies.
In an order signed on Friday, U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel said that materials, including Trump University procedures on dealing with students and the media, should be unsealed."

District court
District courts are a category of courts which exists in several nations. These include:
Australia
District Court is the name given to the intermediate court in most Australian States. They hear indictable (serious) criminal offences excluding treason, murder and, in some States, manslaughter. Their civil jurisdiction is also intermediate, typically being for civil disputes where the amount claimed is greater than a $75 000 but less than $750 000. The limits vary between Australian States. In Victoria, the equivalent Court is called the County Court. Below them is the Magistrates' Courts, known as the Local Court in New South Wales. Above them are the State Supreme Courts.
Austria
Austria has some 200 district, or local, courts, which decide minor civil and criminal cases.
Finland
Finland has 27 district courts (käräjäoikeus/tingsrätt), which deal with criminal cases, civil cases and petitionary matters. Each court is headed by the Chief Judge and other District Judges. In certain cases, the district court may also have Lay Judges. The cases are handled and resolved either in a session or in chambers. In simple cases decisions can be made by notaries.

Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee for the Nov. 8 election, is fighting a lawsuit that accuses his school venture of misleading thousands of people who paid up to $35,000 for seminars to learn about the billionaire's real estate investment strategies.
In an order signed on Friday, U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel said that materials, including Trump University procedures on dealing with students and the media, should be unsealed."
