TU named to the 50 Great Affordable Eco-Friendly Colleges list
More and more students are seeking out colleges and universities considered “green” and “Eco-friendly.” Whether these students are looking for a formal education to pursue careers in environmentalism, or are just dedicated to living lives of sustainability, there are a number of colleges that have proven themselves just as dedicated to the idea of sustainable living.
Feds commend TU for 13% campus energy reduction
Towson University has reduced campus energy consumption by 13 percent since 2010, earning high praise from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) at the annual Better Buildings Challenge Summit held last month in Washington, D.C. TU is ahead of schedule in meeting its Better Building Challenge goal of reducing energy by 20 percent by the year 2020.
TU unplugged: first campus solar panels unveiled
Towson University President Kim Schatzel joined key SGA advocates to break ground on the campus’s first solar project on Friday, April 22. The project will place more than 4,000 solar modules in five campus locations.
