About | BIRP!

Founded in 2009, BIRP is a monthly compilation of new music of +100 tracks that are free to stream online. On top of the monthly playlist, we also run an in-site blog devoted to new music as well as act as a hub for a growing community of people that love to share and talk about music. It's our way of helping to promote all the independent bands we know and love and to give the listener a chance to get to hear something new.

We typically get a ton of daily emails so if we don't respond, it doesn't mean we didn't listen or like what you sent us. We're definitely listening!

If you would like to get your music heard/featured by us, here's some tips on what works best:

Submit your music as a link to your BANDCAMP or SOUNDCLOUD page. No attachments, please. And definitely no zip files or downloads. If the only way we can listen to your stuff is to download it, then it's not going to get heard by us.
Submit only new content (1-2 months old).
Submit only finished work. No 'works in progress' please.
Submit music that we can freely publish. If you tell us that it's for "your ears only" then what's the point?

We lead busy lives sometimes so we're always looking for help with the day to day postings. If you're a writer and would like to contribute to the blog/new music/interviews section or would like to submit art for playlist covers, we'd love to hear from you. Please send an email to submit@birp.fm with the subject as RE: Contributing to BIRP. It helps us and is a perfect way for your work to get exposure to a wide audience every month.

ADVERTISING

birp.fm is an effective way of advertising any product or company. For any requests, please e-mail Josh Blalock at joshblalock@gmail.com (Title Email "Advertising"). Our average reader age is 18-32, with the top countries being the United States (71%), Canada (15%), United Kingdom (13%), among many others. We reach over 60,000 unique readers a month (600,000 Page Views/Month). Extensive web site statistics will be given upon proper request for valid explanation. Prices vary, depending on the placement of your ad. An advertisement is usually on the sidebar, though exceptions can be made. They can be used in graphic or text form, whichever you prefer. Prices are very negotiable, and any request for phone number will be granted (if need be). If you have any other questions, have no hesitation to ask.

HELP SPREAD THE WORD

We always appreciate your help in promoting the site on the web. Whether it be sharing it with friends or whatever else you can think of (i.e. adding any post to Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Stumbleupon and linking to BIRP from your own site, etc, is all appreciated greatly).

You can also help by adding links from BIRP to your favorite social networking sites (like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace, etc.) and signing up for the RSS feed.
