Thamesville Herald Sold To New Owner
Tue, 08/02/2016 - 16:57The Thamesville Herald was founded in 1886 and most recently was owned and operated by Allison Humphrey. Heather Wright purchased the community newspaper with a circulation of about 900 in late June. The sale was finalized on July 28.
Wright plans to expand the coverage area of the Herald to include the communities of Dresden and Bothwell, which have been without their own community weekly for several years.

Tue, 07/05/2016 - 15:43Canada Post and the union are still talking, with both sides saying that they hope to come to an agreement. Although 90% of the postal workers voted in favour of a strike, and Canada Post officially denied a two-week extension on the July 2 deadline, neither side has provided the 72-hour notice required for a strike or lockout. That means that Thursday is the earliest we would see any work stoppage.

John Foust: An Alternative To Spec Ads

Gus is an advertiser who has dealt with ad representatives from a variety of media firms. "One thing that a lot of them have in common is that they like to present new ad ideas in the beginning," he said. "It's nice that they make the effort to create spec ads, but most of those ideas are way off target. When I point out the reasons why certain ads are not right for me, they seem to lose enthusiasm."
