No Tav Enters Construction Site, Fireworks Follow

Last night we returned to wave the “No Tav” flag inside that fortress of a construction site which for years has been ravaging our land.

Activists gathered at around 17:00 in Giaglione and about 200 people marched to the Val Clarea.

The time and place had been scheduled for a group dinner, and as they reached the bridge of Clarea, the activists found themselves faced by police positioned in riot gear, preventing passage to the site.

In the meantime, in an autonomous moment of conviviality, the place was set up with tables, benches, and food.

After dinner, thanks to the moonless night and summer’s thick forest foliage, a group of activists managed to reach the construction yard and attack it with fireworks, lighting up the sky of Clarea and waving their flag, the fortress violated–showing everyone how the security of the place, upon which  thousands of euros are spent every day, is a big scam.

The demonstration ended at midnight, and between choirs and satisfaction, it returned to the presidium of Venaus.

We could not have had a better closing, for the camp launched a movement that kept the police and the Lords of Tav on tenterhooks for two weeks guarding “the monster.”

But the summer is not over yet, and there will still be other initiatives, such as the one this evening [July 31] at 19:30 at Venaus, where there will be an apertif following the screening of the film “Il cartun d’le ribeliun.”
