Toshihiro Okuyama
Toshihiro Okuyama, Japan, is a reporter for the newspaper Asahi Shimbun.
In more than two decades with the newspaper, Okuyama has written about public prosecutors, the judiciary system, Japan's Ministry of Finance. He has investigated a number of financial scandals and wrote the books "Power of Whistleblowing: What Would Whistleblower Protection Act Protect?" and “Reportage TEPCO: A Month of Nuclear Crisis.” He’s coauthored other books, including "Giso Ukeoi – Disguised Employment Contracts: Workers in the Gap- Widening Society." Okuyama was a Scholar in Residence at the Investigative Reporting Workshop at American University. He also is a part-time lecturer at the Graduate School of Journalism of Waseda University, in Tokyo.
