Titus Plattner

Titus Plattner, Switzerland, is an investigative reporter currently working for the joint investigative team of Le Matin Dimanche and SonntagsZeitung, two Sunday newspaper in the French and the German parts of Switzerland. Plattner is interested in corruption, security, arms deals, science, IT, surveillance, data journalism, road traffic regulation, fiscal policy, and the nuclear industry. He has a master's degree in political science and another in history. He pays particular attention to policy decisions that are made with little transparency.

As a student Plattner wrote for the Le Nouveau Quotidien and Le Nouvelliste. He began his professional reporting career in 1999 on the newsmagazine L’Hebdo and later joined the Le Matin Dimanche and then Le Temps as national political correspondent in Bern. In 2013 and 2014, he was part of the Swiss team reporting on ICIJ’s Offshore Leaks project.

Since 2013, he has been teaching investigative journalism at the Centre for Journalism Training and Media (CFJM) in Lausanne. Plattner is also co-founder and member of the board of the association Loitransparence.ch, which promotes the use of the Swiss equivalent of the Freedom of Information Act by journalists.
