John Hansen

John Hansen, Denmark, managing editor in charge of investigative reporting at Politiken.

Hansen began his reporting career at local newspapers in 1979. In 1988 he joined Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten as a business reporter, and in 1997 became managing editor of business & finance for six years. He then spent seven years in charge of investigative reporting at Jyllands-Posten, before taking over a similar position at Politiken in 2010.

He is the co-author of a book about the Danish cartoon-crisis in 2006, The Provocateur and the Prophet: Behind the Scenes of the Muhammad Crisis, with Kim Hundevadt.

Hansen has served as chairman of the Danish association of investigative journalists, FUJ, since 2011.
