Pine Rivers Area

It is not difficult to understand why the Pine Rivers Area of Queensland, Australia is so named. Within this region, you will find Pine River and its tributaries, North Pine River and South Pine River. These waterways allow for much fertile land, which led to farmers settling this area in the late 1800s.

Today, the entire Pine Rivers Area is home to over 140,000 residents. These inhabitants are split among many urban suburbs and rural localities. Majority of the population is located in the suburbs in the south and south-eastern suburbs, which are closest to Brisbane. Pine Rivers is considered part of the Greater Brisbane Area.

The western three quarters of the region is largely pastoral land with grazing cattle and horses, with a population of less than 19,000. The Pine Rivers Area offers a wide variety of suburbs, ranging from urban centres to farmsteads to areas with light industrial industries, and much more.
