The Wicked Witch of the West is a fictional character and the most significant antagonist in L. Frank Baum's children's book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900). In Baum's subsequent Oz books, it is the Nome King who is the principal villain; the Wicked Witch of the West is rarely even referred to again after her death in the first book.
The witch's most popular depiction was in the classic 1939 Hollywood movie based on Baum's book, where she was portrayed by actress Margaret Hamilton. Hamilton's characterization introduced green skin and this has been continued in later literary and dramatic representations, including Gregory Maguire's revisionist Oz novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (1995) and its musical stage adaptation Wicked (2003), the 2013 film Oz the Great and Powerful, and the television series Once Upon a Time.

Cattiva (internationally released as The Wicked) is a 1991 Italian drama film directed by Carlo Lizzani. The film is loosely based on real life events of Carl Jung, the founder of analytical psychology. For this film Giuliana De Sio was awarded with a David di Donatello for Best Actress.
Judy Garland (June 10, 1922 – June 22, 1969), born Frances Ethel Gumm, was an American singer, actress, and vaudevillian. She was renowned for her contralto vocals and attained international stardom which continued throughout a career that spanned more than 40 years as an actress in musical and dramatic roles, as a recording artist, and on concert stages. Respected for her versatility, she received a Juvenile Academy Award and won a Golden Globe Award as well as a Special Tony Award. She was the first woman to win a Grammy for Album of the Year.
Garland was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the remake of A Star Is Born and for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the 1961 film Judgment at Nuremberg. She remains the youngest recipient (at 39 years of age) of the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement in the motion picture industry.
After appearing in vaudeville with her two older sisters, Garland was signed to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer as a teenager. There, she made more than two dozen films, including nine with Mickey Rooney, and 1939's The Wizard of Oz. After 15 years, she was released from the studio and then gained new success through record-breaking concert appearances, including a return to acting, beginning with critically acclaimed performances.

Plot: The Wicked Witch of the West comes to Kansas (which looks suspiciously like the grounds of a California college campus) and steals Dorothy's dog Toto. The Good Witch tells her that the moral code of all Witches must give her a chance to earn back her dog. The Wicked Witch decides Dorothy must go to Storybook Land and correctly guess the identities of ten storybook characters in the order she encounters them. She is also allowed the help of all children (watching at home) between the ages of two and twelve. She opens a posterboard door to reveal the greenscreened world of Storybook Land, encountering lively personalities like a rapping Little Boy Blue, beautiful Rapunzel, and goofy Pinnochio [sic], as well as thesped characters like Jack and Jill. Upon encountering each one, the image grows still and pale and the lyrics to a song being performed are chyroned up on the screen.

There is a demon
An evil mind
Inside us
Oh I know, I know
We all know the rules
When water will be shed
The wicked witch is...
This is the end of all the miracles
Farewell to you yellow brick road
Everything she is asking for
It all belongs to her
Now she's gone into nothingness
There she waits
Still I can hear her singing in the room
In the room I know she's gone
I've thought "She'll never fail,
All magic will be gone
The day she'll melt away"
This is the end of all the miracles
Still I hear her singing in the dark
Truth has changed, her voice it stays the same
Farewell to you yellow brick road
Still I hear her singing in the dark
While time goes on her voice will fade away
"They are all, they're everything, they are mine
Silver shoes you're mine, you are mine,
You are mine"
Hate will live on
This is the end of all the miracles
Farewell to you yellow brick road
The wicked witch is dead ...
