Three Blue Ducks has killed off its two-month-old Rosebery barbecue pop-up "Bob", opening its permanent cafe-restaurant this week. And the long-awaited dinner service will be part of the changes.

"Yes, Bob is dead. It was just confusing people," says co-owner Darren Robertson of the Bob the barbecue concept.

"It was only ever supposed to be a stop-gap until building work was completed, so Three Blue Ducks Rosebery finally kicks off this week."

The dinner menu, which sweeps from a dish of blue mackerel, curd and seaweed to charred cauliflower with blistered grapes and almonds, gives a wink to the Ducks' farm venture at Byron Bay with ribeye on the bone. The good news for anyone with a cellar is the liquor licence is still pending, so it is currently operating as a BYO.
