IT was a fine line between pleasure and pain for Knights winger Nathan Ross on Saturday.

Just hours after he suffered a hamstring strain in the loss to Canterbury, the Knights announced a two-year contract extension for their leading tryscorer.

Ross limped from the field in distress in the 24th minute and did not return, but Knights coach Nathan Brown did not seem concerned that the injury would sideline his leading tryscorer long-term.

“I don’t think it’s going to be too major, but he couldn’t keep going, which was unfortunate,’’ Brown said.

In a club statement, Brown described Ross as “a great story” and proof that “you can achieve your dreams by working hard’’.

Ross, 27, said he was “absolutely over the moon” to be staying with the Knights.

The Knights will welcome back Mitch Barnett, who has been suspended for their past two games after a shoulder charge on Cronulla prop Andrew Fifita.
