Crime Patrol coming back in its 4th season attempts to bring stories of crime happening all around the country. Crimes that tell us, we need to be careful, we need to be watchful. Crimes that tell us lives could have been saved.Every crime we hear of, either warns us to be careful or scares us, it could happen to us. Every crime ignites a feeling, "It should not have happened".Would knowing the "Why" behind a crime, help in stopping a crime from happening?"I don't like the way he looks at me", "I don't like the way he/she is behaving", "I think he/she is out of his/her mind", "I think he/she has gone crazy". That gaze, that quirky smile, that persistent stare which unnerves. It is difficult to understand the intentions but the hints are there.In a house a husband and wife argue, fight. A vessel comes flying, a glass breaks. Husband is angry and the wife is upset. That hatred, that ego. The distance that keeps growing. It is difficult to comprehend the damage, but the cracks are there.Feelings... expressions. Misunderstood, unresolved callings of the heart. The cracks are there. Too wide to be missed. Yet when the heart takes over the mind, the outcome is a mindless tragedy.Crime Patrol- Dastak will attempt to look at the signs, the signals that are always there before these mindless crimes are committed. Instincts/Feelings/Signals that so often tell us that not everything is normal. May be, that signal/feeling/instinct is just not enough to believe it could result in a crime. Kothrud
Kothrud, known Kothrud Baag in the era of the Peshwas, is the western suburb of the city of Pune, Maharashtra in India. Situated relatively near the center of an industrialized city, it has seen rapid growth in housing, making it one of the fastest developing suburbs in Asia in the 80s. Kothrud is now one of the upmarket areas of Pune, with real estate prices being quite high.
Kothrud also saw Pune's first flyover, Savarkar flyover at Paud Phata, which connected Karve Road to Paud Road.
Old landmarks in Kothrud include the Dashabhuja temple and the Mrityunjaya temple with history dating back to the Peshwa times. Kothrud is where Bajirao Peshwa's second wife Mastani used to stay.
Location
Kothrud mainly consists of the area around Karve Road and Paud Road.
Paud Road begins from Paud Phata, and leads to Chandani Chowk and the Pune-Mumbai Highway through Bhusari colony. Housing development is spread on both sides of Paud road. Karve Road begins from Deccan and ends at Warje.
Kothrud is serviced by the PMPML Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited, and has two main bus depots - Kothrud Depot and Kothrud Stand. Buses connect it to other parts of Pune like Nigdi, Hadapsar, Railway station and Swargate. A new terminus "Kumbre Park", located on the D.P. Road has also started operating PMPML buses to major parts of Pune city, a couple of years back.

Narendra Modi
Narendra Damodardas Modi (Gujarati: [nəreːnd̪rə d̪ɑːmoːd̪ərəd̪ɑːs moːd̪iː], born 17 September 1950) is the 15th and current Prime Minister of India, in office since 26 May 2014. Modi, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014 and is the Member of Parliament (MP) from Varanasi. He led the BJP in the 2014 general election, which gave the party a majority in the Lok Sabha (the lower house of the Indian parliament) – a first for any party since 1984 – and was credited for 2014 BJP electoral victories in the states of Haryana, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir.
Since taking office as Prime Minister, Modi's administration has focused on reforming and modernising India's infrastructure and government, reducing bureaucracy, encouraging increased foreign direct investment, improving national standards of health and sanitation and improving foreign relations. Modi has been appreciated for starting initiatives like Swachh Bharat Mission, Make in India and Digital India. Earlier, as Chief Minister of Gujarat, Modi's economic policies (credited with encouraging economic growth in Gujarat) have been praised, although his administration has also been criticised for failing to significantly improve the human development in the state and failing to prevent the 2002 Gujarat riots. A Hindu nationalist and a former member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Modi remains a controversial figure domestically and internationally, despite his progressivism. Known for his tech savvy image, he is the second most followed politician on social media after U.S. President Barack Obama.

With severe water crisis looming large over the city, and some parts of Peth areas already suffering from water problems for the last couple of days, the two-and-a-half-century-old Peshwa era underground water system is lying defunct for many years The ancient water system, if not defunct, can fulfill the water needs of some Peth areas during water crisis. Presently the underground water system can’t provide potable water as constructions and damage to the pipeline has led to contamination of water from Swargate towards Peth areas. Had the system been conserved today it could have supplied water to the inhabitants of Budhwar Peth, Guruwar Peth and Shaniwar Peth. Balaji Bajirao alias Nanasaheb Peshwa had built two dams in 1749-50 in Katraj on a stream by constructing big walls to hold water and supply it to the old city of Pune and Shaniwarwada.
According to Krushnaji Vinayak Sohoni, Nanasaheb verified the ample water stock and decided to carry the water from Katraj to Shaniwarwada and other Peth areas through underground stony tunnel.
For utilising this water there were many private and public water tanks. There were 80 cisterns available till 1914.
On March 26, 1879, the ownership of this Peshwa era underground water supply system was transferred to the Pune Municipal Council by British Government.
At the same time the possession of the land of about 165 acres of both the dams at Katraj were also transferred to the municipal council later.
After constructing the Khadakwasla dam, it started supplying water to Pune.
Despite that till 1915 the city used to get 7 lakh gallons of water every day from Katraj lake through the underground pipeline.
The Katraj tap ends at Ganesh Darwaja in the bastion, where a chamber was made, in Shaniwarwada. According to the book
‘Katrajcha Nal’ written by LR Gokhale in 1914, there are outlets at Omkareshwar mandir and Amruteshwar Ghat in Shaniwar Peth.
In January and February 2004 due to the effort of Sriram Bhagwat, Srikrishna Bhagwat and Nandakumar Bangude, the water system once again came into limelight. But owing to the contamination, the water system lies defunct presently, thereby of no use during times of crisis.

With severe water crisis looming large over the city, and some parts of Peth areas already suffering from water problems for the last couple of days, the two-and-a-half-century-old Peshwa era underground water system is lying defunct for many years
The ancient water system, if not defunct, can fulfill the water needs of some Peth areas during water crisis. Presently the underground water system can’t provide potable water as constructions and damage to the pipeline has led to contamination of water from Swargate towards Peth areas.
Had the system been conserved today it could have supplied water to the inhabitants of Budhwar Peth, Guruwar Peth and Shaniwar Peth.
When contacted, water supply head of the Pune Municipal Corporation, VG Kulkarni said, “Till Sarasbaug some people are using the water for non-potable purpose but after that, owing to heavy contamination, citizens of Peth areas avoid using the water.”

Gangasagar pilgrimage and fair is the second largest congregation of mankind after the holy Kumbha Mela. The latter is observed once in four years at alternate locations in north, central and central-west parts of the country, Gangasagar fair and pilgrimage is held annually on the Sagar Island's southern tip in the Ganges delta atop the Bay of Bengal. That makes Gangasagar all the more distinctive.
Gangasagar is a charming tourist destination, which attracts both pilgrims and adventure lovers. Located on an island in the Sunderbans, Gangasagar offers the charms of an un-spoilt beach on the estuary of the river Ganges. Gangasagar offers acres of silver sand and clear blue sky, and the calm sea for visitors who would like to spend their weekend in tranquillity.
Also known as Sagardwip, Gangasagar is still unexplored and therefore unexploited. The island of Gangasagar is one of the most famous Hindu pilgrimage centres in India. Every year on Makar Sankranti (mid-January), pilgrims from all over India, gather at Gangasagar for a holy dip at the confluence of the river Ganga and the Bay of Bengal. After the holy dip, the pilgrims offer 'Puja' at the Kapil Muni Temple or Ashram. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Gangasagar Mela is organized in this island, which is one of the biggest fairs in West Bengal. Gangasagar finds mention in many tales of Hindu mythology and in ancient Indian literature like the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, a novel of Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay and a poem of Rabindranath Tagore.

Pune. The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd has developed a cellphone application which enables meter readings to be sent directly to the distribution company's billing centre. Meter readings of all low-tension connections will be taken with the help of the app from September 1. The app was successfully tested by taking 18,968 readings in Kothrud division since July 22....
