The M1 carbine (formally the United States Carbine, Caliber .30, M1) is a lightweight .30 caliber semi-automatic carbine that became a standard firearm for the U.S. military during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, and was produced in several variants. Easy to use, it was widely used by U.S. and foreign military, paramilitary and police forces, and has also been a popular civilian firearm.
In selective-fire versions capable of fully automatic firing, the carbine is designated the M2 carbine. The M3 carbine was an M1 or M2 with an active infrared scope system. Unlike conventional carbines, which are generally shorter-barreled versions of a longer parent rifle (like the earlier .30-40 U.S. Krag rifle and carbine and the later M16 rifle and M4 carbine), the M1 carbine fires a different cartridge and has only one part, a short buttplate screw, in common with the M1 rifle.
By the Way is the eighth studio album by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. The album was released on July 9, 2002 on Warner Bros. Records. It sold over 286,000 copies in the first week, and peaked at number two on the Billboard 200. (Their next album would peak at number one) The singles from the album included "By the Way", "The Zephyr Song", "Can't Stop", "Dosed" and "Universally Speaking". The lyrical subject matter vocalist Anthony Kiedis addresses in By the Way is a divergence from previous Chili Peppers albums, with Kiedis taking a more candid and reflective approach to his lyrics.
By the Way was applauded by critics as a departure from the band's previous styles, and is recognized for the melodic and subdued emotions given by the Chili Peppers. Guitarist John Frusciante is credited with writing most of the album's melodies, bass lines, and guitar progressions, therefore changing the direction of the recording dramatically: "his warm, understated guitar work and his doo-wop style vocal harmonies are king this time around."By the Way contained very little of the signature punk-funk fusion the band had become known for playing. Frusciante has stated that writing "By the Way [was] one of the happiest times in my life." The album went on to sell over 8 million copies worldwide.
Lexington, consolidated with Fayette County, is the second-largest city in Kentucky and the 61st largest in the United States. Known as the "Horse Capital of the World", it is the heart of the state's Bluegrass region. With a mayor-alderman form of government, it is one of two cities in Kentucky designated by the state as first-class; the other is the state's largest city of Louisville. In the 2014 U.S. Census Estimate, the city's population was 310,797, anchoring a metropolitan area of 489,435 people and a combined statistical area of 708,677 people.
Lexington ranks tenth among US cities in college education rate, with 39.5% of residents having at least a bachelor's degree. It is the location of the Kentucky Horse Park, The Red Mile and Keeneland race courses, Rupp Arena, the world's largest basketball-specific arena, Transylvania University, the University of Kentucky and Bluegrass Community & Technical College.
This area of fertile soil and abundant wildlife was long occupied by varying tribes of Native Americans. European explorers began to trade with them but settlers did not come in force until the late 18th century.

The M1 Carbine is a terrific long gun designed to bridge the gap between pistol and rifle, and it went above and beyond that simple expectation. Troops loved the light weight, high capacity, and handiness of this little gun and it often made it onto the front lines despite having been designed for other purposes. Shooting, showing, & discussing the history of this handy little piece of history. Actually, after recently getting out my magnifying glasses and flashlights, I've decided this carbine (receiver) is a Standard Products carbine. The first two letters are definitely "ST," which leaves no other choice, really. The rear sight is staked, so I just don't really want to hammer it off there. :-) Also, I've read quite a bit since doing this old video; it's pretty much consensus tha Carbine Williams was responsible for the basic design of the gas system, and that's about it. ------------------- Please GO to our website and check out what the great folks who support us have to offer: BUD’s GUN SHOP, THE NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION, FEDERAL PREMIUM, and SONORAN DESERT INSTITUTE: http://www.hickok4...

The U.S. Army Rangers get the pick of pinpoint rapid fire weapons for there missions. The M1 Garand and M1 Carbine were Ranger favorites in two major conflicts. The carbine was only 35 inches long and weighed a mere 5 pounds. The combination of accuracy, compact size and high rate of fire seem to make it the ultimate Ranger weapon. But the pistol caliber lacked stopping power. The M1 Carbine was actually designed to replace the pistol offering the shooter greater accuracy. The M1 Carbine's bigger brother was the M1 Garand. It was the standard infantry weapon in World War II and Korea. Five and a half million were produced in four decades of service. It's combination of accuracy, semi-automatic fire and rifle caliber made it the number one Ranger weapon. The adoption of John Garand's semi-...
https://www.patreon.com/InRangeTV?ty=h We've heard a lot of comments that 30 minute long videos are a bit too long from a number of viewers so we're going to start breaking larger videos into two parts, with this being the first one being published using that approach. InRange received a reproduction M Carbine from "Inland" and we put it through the paces. Here's part one of that discussion and testing. Part 2 will be posted later this week on YouTube, or (if you don't want to wait) it's already up on Full30 here: https://www.full30.com/video/755642fbd636bcad9e479910d3ca2f3a In this video we mention some of the developmental changes with the M1 in regards to the rear sight and safety, but don't go into it with any depth. This website does a good job discussing that specifically:...
Review and shooting test of the .30 M1 Carbine, a 1943 Inland-General Motors model. I included a segment with close-ups to view the condition of the rifle in detail and any markings. Shooting segments are at 100 yards on steel targets and include a picture-in-picture aspect of the target camera. In the video, I cited the M1's use in WW2, but it was also a standard in Korea, and according to my research, very early stages in Vietnam. Based on the condition of this rifle at the time of purchase, I suspect it had not been fired in several years, although I could be wrong. The rifling is in very good condition, and there wasn't even the hint of smell of burned powder or cleaning solvents. Just a dry, old rifle that possibly had been sitting in someone's collection for nostalgic purposes...
