We often link the concept of ambition with the concept of money, at least in the
U.S.
You now have permission to unlink these two if you haven't already and you will be much better off for it.
The most ambitious people are not necessarily the richest people so stop judging your ambition with dollar signs and stop giving wealthy people the credit of being the most ambitious.
I have a client worth well over $
10 million. When I first met with him and he told me he was independently wealthy and did not work I said "That's impressive."
"No it's not," he said giving me a wry look.
Being close to
Silicon Valley I had assumed he had worked his butt off creating brilliant software and had sold it for several million dollars.
Not even close.
He had inherited it all from his father who had been an entertainment lawyer for
NBC.
Money is a byproduct of ambition, sometimes.
Mother Theresa was ambitious and dirt poor. So was
Gandhi,
Martin Luther King,
Nikola Tesla and heaps of others who changed the world. Not all of them were dirt poor, but you get my
point.
Every
NLP process starts with what you want.
Desire is humans' unique gift to the world.
It's so powerful we can destroy the world with it or we can make art, beauty, technology, and enough resources so that no one has to live in poverty.
Are you actualizing your desires? Why not?
What are you waiting for?
One of the biggest mistakes
I've made is putting other parts of my life on hold, especially my ambitions, in order to make a bunch of money. The thinking is "When I have enough money I can do all the things I want to do."
Meanwhile that day might not come and if it does, you might have a nice bank account, but other than money what will you have to show for it?
I'm not suggesting not making lots of money. What I am suggesting is that you put your ambitions first and use them as fuel to create the wealth you need to pursue your ambition. You'll be a lot happier and you can still get rich.
All of this starts with getting clear about what you value most and this is a fundamental part of Transforming Your
Self. You have less than two weeks to
sign up.
