Winnebago County is the name of three counties in the United States:
In principle, a sheriff is a legal official with responsibility for a "shire", i.e. county. In practice, the specific combination of legal, political and ceremonial duties of a sheriff varies greatly from country to country.
"County Fair" is a song written by Brian Wilson and Gary Usher for the American rock band The Beach Boys. It was originally released as the second track on their 1962 album Surfin' Safari. On November 26 of that year, it was released as the B-side to The Beach Boys' third single, "Ten Little Indians". The same single was released in the UK in January 1963.
The melody of "County Fair" was later recycled into the song "I Do".
"County Fair" was the second song Brian Wilson and Gary Usher wrote together. In the song, the singer takes his girlfriend to the county fair, where she leaves him for a stronger man; one who can ring the bell on a high striker game. The song culminates in the tag, as the girl leaves the singer, calling him a loser. The song is in verse-chorus form, though the choruses consist of spoken-word narration of the girlfriend and a carnival barker over an organ melody.
"County Fair" was recorded by The Beach Boys on September 6, 1962, during the last recording session for their first album, Surfin' Safari. Nik Venet produced the session at Capitol Studios.
Winnebago can refer to:
A county, abbreviated Cnty. (US) or Co. (UK and Ireland), is a geographical region of a country used for administrative or other purposes, in certain modern nations. The term is derived from the Old French conté or cunté denoting a jurisdiction under the sovereignty of a count (earl) or a viscount. The modern French is comté, and its equivalents in other languages are contea, contado, comtat, condado, Grafschaft, graafschap, Gau, etc. (cf. conte, comte, conde, Graf).
When the Normans conquered England, they brought the term with them. The Saxons had already established the districts that became the historic counties of England, calling them shires (many county names derive from the name of the county town with the word "shire" added on: for example, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire). The Vikings introduced the term earl (from Old Norse, jarl) to the British Isles. Thus, "earl" and "earldom" were taken as equivalent to the continental use of "count" and "county". So the later-imported term became a synonym for the native English word scir ([ʃiːr]) or, in Modern English, shire. Since a shire was an administrative division of the kingdom, the term "county" evolved to designate an administrative division of national government in most modern uses.

Excerpt from WIFR TV 23: WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WIFR) -- TV 23 recently interviewed Winnebago Deputy Chief Scott Meyers regarding the new technology, known as NightHawk, developed by Pacific Scientific Energetic Materials Company. Innocent local lives lost while suspects run police, it's happened several times ... and now Winnebago County Sheriff’s deputies are some of the first in the nation to try to stop it from happening by using new technology; technology you’d expect to see in a James Bond movie. “For officer safety, you really can't get much better," Winnebago Deputy Chief Scott Meyers said. With a push of a button it could save lives. "Officers nationwide have been injured and killed trying to deploy Stop Sticks and they get hit by the suspect's vehicle or other traffic."

For many years stock car racing has been a staple in Winnebago County. But recently, contract negotiations between the county and racing promoters have stalled or otherwise broken down. On this episode, host Chery Hentz talks with promoters (Impact MotorSports dba Oshkosh SpeedZone) about their take on the negotiations, why they believe they aren't being given a fair shake by the county, and why racing should stay in the community. In another segment of the show County Executive Mark Harris and County Parks Director Rob Way offer their take on the issue and why they believe there are more profitable use options for the County Fairgrounds and Expo Center, making those uses a better deal for county taxpayers. * Note: This show was not meant to take the place of or act as contract negotiatio...
