Deborah "Debbi" Morgan (born September 20, 1956) is an American film and television actress. She is perhaps best known for her role as Dr. Angie Hubbard on the ABC soap opera All My Children, and for her role as The Seer in the fourth and fifth seasons of Charmed.

Morgan joined the cast of The Young and the Restless as Yolanda "Harmony" Hamilton on October 7, 2011, exactly two weeks after All My Children aired its final television episode on September 23, 2011.

Morgan was born in Dunn, North Carolina, the daughter of Lora, a teacher, and George Morgan, Jr., a butcher. She has a younger sister, Terry.^[1] She moved to New York City when she was three months old. Her father died of leukemia when she was eight, and she was raised by her mother, who worked as a secretary and a typing instructor at Junior High School 80 in the Bronx. Morgan attended parochial school. Debbi Morgan has been married 4 times: to Charles Weldon from 1980 to 1984; to actor Charles S. Dutton from 1989 to 1994, and photographer Donn Thompson from 1997 to 2000. She has been married to Jeffrey Winston since June 2009.

Career[link]

Morgan's earliest film role was in the movie Mandingo in 1975. She played the role of Dite. Morgan's earliest recurring role was on What's Happening!! from 1976 to 1977 as Diane Harris, and also appeared on Good Times. In 1979, she received critical acclaim for her portrayal of Alex Haley's great-aunt Elizabeth Harvey on the 1979 miniseries Roots: The Next Generations, and her guest-starring role as Curtis Jackson's ex-girlfriend turned prostitute on The White Shadow. Her most famous role was Angie Baxter Hubbard on the soap opera All My Children, a role she originally played from January 1982 to July 1990. Her portrayal of Angie struck a chord with many Black viewers across America. Angie and her love interest, Jesse Hubbard (Darnell Williams), became the first African-American "supercouple" on the daytime serials. In 1989, Morgan won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (which she shares with Santa Barbara actress Nancy Lee Grahn). She and Williams also co-hosted a music video show titled New York Hot Tracks in the mid-1980s.

After leaving All My Children, Morgan played the role of Chantal Marshall on the NBC soap opera, Generations (replacing actress Sharon Brown) and remained with the show until it ended. She then reprised her role as Angie Hubbard on ABC's Loving in 1991. In 1995, she brought the same character to The City (a retooled version of Loving), making Morgan the first actor to portray the same character as a regular cast member on three different soap operas.

From 1997 to 1998, she played Dr. Ellen Burgess on Port Charles. In the early 2000s, she played lead character Lora Gibson, opposite Lea Thompson, on the Lifetime series For the People. She also played the role of The Seer in the fourth and fifth seasons of Charmed.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Morgan became a de facto symbol for the possibilities for black women as all of her soap opera roles involved her playing a successful doctor. In the late 1990s, she garnered much acclaim from movie critics for her portrayal of clairvoyant Mozelle Batiste Delacroix in director Kasi Lemmons' Eve's Bayou. For her portrayal, she won a Chicago Film Critics Association Award and an Independent Spirit Award and was nominated for an Image Award.

Morgan, along with Darnell Williams, returned to All My Children in January 2008. Both actors have signed long term contracts.^[2] In May 2009 and 2011, she was nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

Also in 2011, Morgan signed a contract to appear on The Young and the Restless after All My Children concludes its run on ABC.

Darnell Williams (born 3 March 1955) is a British-born soap opera actor. He is best known for his portrayal of Jesse Hubbard on the ABC soap opera All My Children from 1981 to 1988, and from 2008 to 2011, a role which has earned him two Daytime Emmy Awards.

Biography[link]

Williams was born in London, UK|UK]]. In the mid 1970s, he was a regular dancer on TVs Soul Train.

Williams began portraying Jesse Hubbard on All My Children in 1981. His character became involved in a love affair with upper middle class Angie Baxter (Debbi Morgan). The characters eventually married and thus Darnell Williams was one half of the first African American supercouple on an American soap opera.^[1] Williams won two Daytime Emmy Awards for his work on All My Children in the 1980s. During the mid-1980s, both he and Morgan co-hosted a dance show titled "New York Hot Tracks," that also featured music videos.

In 1988 Williams left All My Children and returned to soap operas as Jesse's look-alike Jacob Foster on Loving and The City. He later briefly reprised his role of Jesse on All My Children, albeit in angel form, when he welcomed Gillian Andrassy (Esta TerBlanche) into Heaven in 2001.

Williams had a recurring role as the counsellor on the primetime drama Felicity, and worked as a director and acting coach for All My Children.

In May 2007, Williams joined the cast of Guiding Light in the recurring role of the villainous Griggs, a man who A.C. Mallet was once employed by as a hit-man. He appeared in the play Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell in New York City through June 2007. In 2008, Williams, along with Gregori J. Martin, co-directed the independent film Manhattanites,^[2] starring Ilene Kristen, Forbes March, and Aiden Turner, Williams' co-star.

Williams returned to All My Children in January 2008 as Jesse Hubbard, along with Debbi Morgan, who plays Dr. Angie Hubbard. He appeared on "Oprah- the Last Season" with cast mates Debbie Morgan and Michael E. Knight in 2011.

In September 2011, Darnell Williams concluded his run on All My Children along with the rest of the cast, due to the cancellation of the serial. At the time All My Children ended, Wiliams was the oldest contracted male actor cast member with the show and the second oldest contracted actor after Susan Lucci.

In January 2012, it was confirmed that Williams will be joining the cast of the CBS daytime drama The Young and the Restless, where he will reunite with All My Children co-star Debbi Morgan.^[3]

Rebecca Jo Budig ( /ˈbʌdɪɡ/) (born June 26, 1973) is an American actress and television presenter, best known for her role as Greenlee Smythe Lavery on the ABC soap opera All My Children.

Early life[link]

Rebecca Budig was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and raised in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. She graduated from the Cincinnati School for Creative and Performing Arts (S.C.P.A.) and later went on to major in zoology at Miami University in Ohio. In 1993, Budig moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue an acting career. While there, she began studying with acting coaches Howard Fine and Jay Goldenberg at the Howard Fine Acting Studio and at the Young Actors Space, respectively.

Budig's first acting job was in Aerosmith's music video Livin' on the Edge.^[1] She later had a cameo role as a teenage girl saved by Chris O'Donnell's character Dick Grayson in Batman Forever.^[1]

In 1995, she auditioned for the role of Kelsey Jefferson on All My Children, but received an offer from Guiding Light, where she began her three-year stint as Michelle Bauer from (1995 to 1998).

Budig played the role of Patty in Captain Nuke and the Bomber Boys in 1995. She then portrayed Babsy in the 1996 film God's Lonely Man. Followed by James Dean: A Race with Destiny where she played actress Natalie Wood and Bonehead Detectives in the Paleo World where she played Allie. Both films were released in 1997.

Budig's most famous role has been that of the spoiled, rich girl-turned-makeup company executive Greenlee Smythe on All My Children — a role which she originated on August 11, 1999. Greenlee was supposed to be a recurring role, but executives enjoyed Budig and offered her a three-year contract.^[2] While on All My Children, Budig garnered accolade from fans and press for her performance on the soap opera, as well as her character's pairing with Josh Duhamel's Leo du Pres.^[3] Budig was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2001 and again in 2003. Her onscreen pairing with Duhamel earned them a Daytime Emmy Award nomination as well, for America's Favorite Couple in 2002. She was often called "Little Budig" by Duhamel, who had given her the nickname.^[1] In 2003, Budig won a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Younger Lead Actress. In November 2005, Budig left the role of Greenlee behind, as Budig relocated to California.

Other notable roles include co-hosting The Sports Illustrated for Kids Show. Budig worked for the World Wrestling Federation as an interviewer for a short time on Sunday Night HEAT in 2000. She has made appearances on Out of Practice, as well as on Hope & Faith. She did a movie called The Perfect Child (2007) featured on Lifetime with the leading role as Sarah Daniels. In addition, Budig has been seen on CSI playing a role as a murdered lap dancer (Season 8, Episodes 9 & 10).

It was confirmed in late 2007 that Budig would be returning to All My Children as Greenlee Smythe, the role she originated. She began airing in January 2008.^[4] However, she signed a limited contract with the show. Later, while rumors circulated of Budig's departure, she confirmed in October 2008 that she would be leaving the series in early March 2009. Budig cited the reason for her departure as wanting to return to the West Coast to be with her husband. Budig returned to 'All My Children in late December 2009 and remained with the series until its series finale in September 2011.

In 2010 she was cast on the first season of the ABC show Skating with the Stars as a celebrity who will skate with a professional skater.^[5] Rebecca won the first and final season of Skating With the Stars.

Budig is the youngest of eight children, she has five sisters and two brothers.

She met former Bachelor star Bob Guiney while hosting the The Bachelor repeat shows on ABC Family. The two were married on July 3, 2004. On January 13, 2010, People Magazine reported that Budig and Guiney had decided to split,^[6] with Budig filing for divorce in April 2010.^[7] The couple had no children, and the divorce finalized on July 23, 2010.^[8]

Budig became engaged to television marketing executive Michael Benson on Christmas Day, 2010.^[9]

Budig's nickname is "peanut" given to her by co-star Cameron Mathison.^[10]

Edward James "Ed" Begley, Jr. (born September 16, 1949) is an American actor and environmentalist. Begley has appeared in hundreds of films, television shows, and stage performances. He is best known for his role as Dr. Victor Ehrlich, on the television series St. Elsewhere, for which he received six consecutive Emmy Award nominations, and his most recent reality show about green living called Living With Ed on Planet Green with his wife, actress Rachelle Carson-Begley.

Begley was born in Los Angeles, California, the son of Allene Jeanne Sanders and Academy Award winner Ed Begley, (although at the time, Ed Begley was married to Amanda Huff).^[1][2] He grew up in Buffalo, New York, and attended Stella Niagara Education Park Cadet School in Lewiston, New York. In 1962 the family moved back to California, where he graduated from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, and Los Angeles Valley College in North Hollywood, California.^[3]

Begley's numerous works in television and film include one of his earliest appearances as a guest actor on Maude. He had recurring roles on Mary Hartman, 7th Heaven, Arrested Development, and Six Feet Under and starring roles in Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital, St. Elsewhere, and Wednesday 9:30 (8:30 Central). He has played significant roles in the mockumentary films Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration. Additionally, Begley played Viper pilot Greenbean on the original Battlestar Galactica TV series, Boba Fett in the radio adaptation of Return of the Jedi, and Seth Gillette, a fictional Democratic US senator from North Dakota in the television drama The West Wing. In 1995, he played The Riddler's boss in Batman Forever but is uncredited. Since 2000, he has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

He has guest-starred on shows such as Scrubs, Boston Legal, and Star Trek: Voyager (Future's End, parts I and II). He had a recurring guest role in season three of Veronica Mars. Most recently, he appeared in the 2008 HBO film Recount, which profiled the 2000 Presidential Election and its aftermath, which was decided by the state of Florida's electoral votes. Begley also made an appearance on Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! Season 3, Episode 3, as a spokesman for Cinco.

In 2003, Begley wrote and directed the musical Cesar and Ruben. It was performed at the El Portal Theatre in Los Angeles and was revived in 2007.

Begley's latest acting role is in the CBS sitcom Gary Unmarried. Begley plays Dr. Walter Krandall, the protagonist's former marriage counselor and fiancé of his ex-wife.

Since 2008 he has appeared in a series of DirecTV commercials as a "Cable Corp Inc." executive.^[4]

According to a feature on the Bio Channel television program Celebrity Close Calls, Begley nearly died in 1972, after being stabbed multiple times while being mugged by a street gang. His attackers were teenagers, who were later apprehended by police.^[5]

He married his first wife, Ingrid Taylor, on October 31, 1976. Their first child, daughter Amanda Begley, was born on October 3, 1977. Their second and last child, son Nicholas Taylor Begley, was born on January 4, 1979. Ed and Ingrid divorced in October 1989. He married Rachelle Carson on August 23, 2000, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They have a daughter named Hayden.

Environmental[link]

Since 1970 he has been an environmentalist, beginning with his first electric vehicle (a Taylor-Dunn^[6] golf cart style vehicle), recycling, and becoming a vegan.^[7] He promotes eco-friendly products like the Toyota Prius, Envirolet composting toilets and Begley's Best Household Cleaner.

Begley's home is 1,585 square feet (147.3 m²) in size using solar power and also uses wind power via a PacWind vertical-axis wind turbine, an air conditioning unit made by Greenway Design Group, LLC., and an electricity-generating bicycle used to toast bread, and he pays around $300 a year in electric bills.^[8] Arguing that the suburban lawn is environmentally unsustainable, especially in Southern California owing to water shortage, he has converted his own to a drought-tolerant garden composed of native California plants.^[9] Though he is noted for riding bicycles and using public transportation, he owns a 2003 Toyota RAV4 EV electric-powered vehicle.

His hybrid electric bicycle was often featured on his television show Living With Ed. Begley also spoofed his own environmentalist beliefs on "Homer to the Max", an episode of The Simpsons by showing himself using a nonpolluting go-cart that is powered by his "own sense of self-satisfaction" and on an episode of Dharma and Greg. Later, he appeared in "Gone Maggie Gone", another episode of The Simpsons, in Season 20. In the episode, during a solar eclipse, he drives a solar-powered car that stops running on train tracks as a train approaches, but the train also stops because it is an Ed Begley Jr. Solar Powered Train.

Begley and friend Bill Nye are in a competition to see who can have the lowest carbon footprint.^[10]

Begley also appeared in the Earth Day edition of The Price is Right. He announced the final showcase, which included an electric bicycle, a solar-powered golf cart Solar Golf Cart and a Toyota Prius.

Begley was featured during The Jay Leno Show's Green Car Challenge. Various celebrities drove an electric Ford Focus automobile and tried to set records on an outdoor track. During the second lap, cutouts of Begley and Al Gore would pop out, and if the celebrity had hit either of them, one second was added to his or her time.

Begley is the author of Living Like Ed: A Guide to the Eco-Friendly Life (2008) and Ed Begley, Jr.'s Guide to Sustainable Living: Learning to Conserve Resources and Manage an Eco-Conscious Life (2009) both published by Random House.^[11][12]

As of 2007, Begley and his wife Rachelle Carson star in their own reality television series, Living With Ed on HGTV and Discovery's Planet Green channel.^[16] He received the Thomas Alva Edison Award for Energy Independence from the American Jewish Congress, the first one to be presented. Begley has been a leader in this field and was recognized in November 2007 for his lifelong work in environmentalism.

Begley was also on the advisory committee for the group 2004 Racism Watch, founded by fellow actor Ed Asner. The group was formed to respond to the advertisement campaign of the George W. Bush/Dick Cheney presidential campaign that they claimed were encouraging racism. The advertisement in question, “100 Days,” made a reference to terrorism and terrorists while highlighting a photograph of an anonymous man of Middle-Eastern descent.^[17][18]
