Daniel is a masculine given name and a surname of Hebrew origin. It means, "God is my judge", and derives from two early biblical figures, primary among them Daniel from the Book of Daniel. Daniel S. Papp

Dr. Daniel S. Papp is the current President of the Kennesaw State University (KSU), a position he has held since July 2006.

Education

Dr. Papp is a Phi Beta Kappa. Graduate of Dartmouth College with a bachelor's degree in International Affairs in 1969. In 1973, Papp received a Ph.D. in International Affairs from the University of Miami. He is a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Career

Early career

Dr. Papp's first position in academia was as an Assistant Professor at Georgia Tech in 1973. Papp also has held visiting and research professor positions at Fudan University, in Shanghai, China; the Center for Aerospace Doctrine, Research and Education at the U.S. Air War College, in Montgomery, Ala.; the Strategic Studies Institute at the U.S. Army War College, in Carlisle, Pa.; and the Western Australia Institute of Technology, in Perth, Australia.

In 1990 he became the founding director and professor for Georgia Tech's Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. Papp remained a professor at Georgia Tech until 1997 when he was appointed interim president of Southern Polytechnic State University.
