[Watch in 720p] Updated Impressions: So, after some debate, I decided to give the beta a bit more of a try before I really pass the game off as a decent web browser game but a terrible modern MMORPG. Without getting too far into the game, it was really unfair for me to just pass judgement off like it was final. So, to offset this, I decided to make a shaman and level up the figher to level 10. I've now reached level 10 with my Shaman and I will have maxed the fighter before the week is over. With that said, the more skills you have, the more combos and more easily impressed you are with how much damage output you do. It makes it much easier to be more forgiving about the game, which is a good thing as it lifts that veil of cynicism that everybody will rightfully have when they first jump right in. There are a lot of faults at the same time, but they're made up for with really beautiful looking animations for certain skills and the chunks of life you take away from casting a spell. Some of the faults come with the juggling/combo aspect as it will eventually lock you out from doing too much of it, which can get frustrating. It is understandable though because it would probably break all forms of balance if it was removed. The graphics are still decent, however dated. The audio is mediocre still. The most fun I've had with the audio is making my own or laughing at the absurdity of the translation errors. That being said, the time flew as I leveled up the Shaman to level 10, and I expect that the game will appeal to some people and keep them hooked for a while. So to the game's credit, it offers enough to people to keep them interested for a while if you can get over that initial saltiness in your mouth. Initial Impressions: Ever since I've found some videos of the gameplay, I was initially very impressed with C9. It felt like a more varied and more action focused Vindictus Online which holds a special place in my heart as one of the better Action MMORPGs or just online games in general. It's very well polished and was fun while I played it until I lost touch with it. I regret doing so, but I don't find myself ever being in a position to play it again. This leads me to the Continent of the Ninth (Seal). I throw in the (Seal) because for some odd reason, they (Webzen) seems to have photoshopped in that extra part of the title in order to make it seem... new? I don't really know the thought process. To get an invitation to the C9 Beta, one of the questions you had to answer what was was C9? The correct answer was "Unrivaled Action RPG". Is that what it is? Well... Unfortunately, to me the initial impressions aren't good. The game feels like it's 5 years old and is completely overshadowed by other games such as TERA, Blade & Soul and even Vindictus Online. It feels unpolished and old. I will continue to give it a try, if I'm not already banned, but I'm not sure if I will get this game at all. The audio is sub par, and in fact bugged out during the first video. The voice acting is laughable. The graphics and gameplay are decent, but that's the problem. This game is advertising itself as being a fun to play action MMO, which it doesn't feel like it. Hold the left mouse button to do a combo attack? Really? Now this is just initial impressions, but by all means, I don't know how much of a significant difference can be made through patches if this is already an up to date product/beta. It just doesn't feel like the game that I was expecting. That's not to say that some people won't find it enjoyable, and there are tons of level 30+ in the VIP beta so far, but I know that I, for one, will not be joining them in that. I don't have the time nor will I use the time to get that far, unless the game drastically changes once you get further in. If you have any questions, comments, critiques, please feel free.
