Abdullah or Abdallah is the primary transliteration of the Arabic given name, Arabic: عبد الله, built from the Arabic words Abd and Allah (Allah itself composed of Al- and Ilah). The first letter a in Al-Ilah in its native pronunciation is often unstressed and commonly transliterated by u, a stressed a is often used as well, although any vowel can also be used. It is one of many Arabic theophoric names, meaning servant of God or God's slave. The feminine counterpart of this name is Amatullah.
Humility before Allah is an essential value of Islam, hence Abdullah is a common name among Muslims. In particular, the name of the Islamic prophet Muhammad's father was Abdullah.
It is also common among Arab Jews, especially Iraqi Jews. The name is cognate to and has the same meaning as the Hebrew Abdiel and, more commonly, Obadiah. There were two Jewish Rabbis in Medina before Islam came; they were Abdullah ibn Salam and Abdullah ibn Shuria. Abdullah ibn Saba was a Yemenite Jew during the spread of Islam. The word Allah exists in the Arabic Talmud and other Jewish scriptures.

Plot: Die Welt is an audacious hybrid between fiction and documentary, showing contemporary Tunisia shortly after the Jasmine Revolution in 2011. In this insightful moral drama about a society in the vacuum between dictatorship and democracy, we follow the young DVD salesman Abdallah, who becomes increasingly frustrated by his inability to realize a fulfilling existence for himself. After meeting the Dutch tourist Anna, he starts dreaming of a better life in Europe, or Die Welt, as his father calls the promised land on the other side of the Mediterranean. Will Abdallah succeed-like his father did in the past-in getting to Europe with the help of a Dutch woman? Or will he have to find another way to escape his native country? And does he want to leave at all? In his debut, Dutch film director Alex Pitstra investigates his Tunisian roots, which he was unfamiliar with most of his life. He paints a mesmerizing picture of the current state of affairs in his father's country, seen through Western eyes. Pitstra worked with both professional actors as well as family members in supporting roles, including his father, his half-sister and his cousins from France. Together with filmmaker and friend Thijs Gloger, who operated the camera and assisted in writing and editing, and with the help of the young Tunesian screenwriter Abdallah Rezgui, Pitstra has given the film a fresh cinematic edge that draws the viewer right into the immediacy of everyday life in Tunisia.

My apprehensions tear down the walls of the temple
The dollar signs that you crave
Mark the extent of your faith
Strange are the things we choose to believe in
My apprehensions tear down the walls of the temple
I'll never fit in, no faith to believe in
My resignation tears down the walls of the temple
Your cash betrays your true worth
Obtain your garden on Earth
Profane is the wealth that you believe in
Since you can't be wrong, shield your eyes from the sun
Its light will expose the poverty of your soul
Your wealth cannot save
This sacrament that will fade
Your opulence has no worth
You've sold your soul on this earth
And I'll break from your hold
My life cannot be bought and sold
This truth you will never get
And now you're so far in debt
And I'll break from your hold
My life cannot be bought and sold
This truth you will never get
