Quotes:
George W. Bush: Has Dr. Blix found any hard evidence yet?::Condoleeza Rice: Not yet, sir.::George W. Bush: Didn't he take any in there with him? Whose side is he on, for crying out loud?
[On UN resolution 1441]::George W. Bush: I told you, we should have gone with the original wording.::Condoleeza Rice: Sir, I'm sorry, but the phrase "98, 99, 100 coming ready or not", does not constitute an acceptable resolution. The Syrians would never had backed it.
Condoleeza Rice: It's Saddam, he's gone to the bathroom.::George W. Bush: Does that constitute a material breach?::Condoleeza Rice: It depends what he has in there.
Tony Blair: Good morning. Look we believe Saddam has weapons of mass destruction. Now if we don't attack him, then he might not use them, and in that case we'll never know whether he's got them or not. And you know, that's not a risk I'm prepared to take. Besides if we do conquer Iraq, and remove Saddam Hussein, there's a chance we could win the Nobel Peace Prize, and you know, frankly, isn't that something worth going to war for?
Tony Blair: Look I'll tell you this, you know, we have to look after the Kurds in Iraq, because if we don't look after them over there, then they'll come over here, and I'll tell you, we're not going to look after them over here.
Krishnan Guru-Murthy: This would be during the Iran-Iraq war?::Saddam Hussein: Yes. There were 3 of us in that war, so it was a bit crowded, yes.::Krishnan Guru-Murthy: And you say the Americans were on your side?::Saddam Hussein: Yes, they even shot down an Iranian airliner. Ha ha, happy days. Then we find out they were arming the Iranians too, and they say they can't trust me.::Krishnan Guru-Murthy: But they say that's because you're a brutal dictator, that you torture and kill people.::Saddam Hussein: The Americans, the British, they always know this, but still they give me weapons, they give me credit.::Krishnan Guru-Murthy: They actually gave you credit?::Saddam Hussein: How do you think I buy the weapons?
Saddam Hussein: Before I took over Kuwait in 1990 I meet American Ambassador, I say, "You got a problem with this?" She say "We have no opinion on your Arab-Arab conflicts".::Krishnan Guru-Murthy: Even Kuwait?::Saddam Hussein: Especially Kuwait. They said so specifically. So I invade Kuwait, and Oy. Gewalt.
Iraqi Television Host: Donald Rumsfeld, you met Saddam in 1983 to discuss military and economic support for his regime, even though at the time he was launching gas attacks on Iranian soldiers.::Donald Rumsfeld: No sorry, but wasn't that a different Saddam?::Iraqi Television Host: No, no, no I don't think so.::Donald Rumsfeld: No, no, that guy was a key ally, a trusted friend and a vital force in the battle against Islamic extremism.::Iraqi Television Host: No this is the very same Saddam.::Donald Rumsfeld: Well in that case it was a different Donald Rumsfeld.
Iraqi Television Host: But you have many people who are supporting you across the years. For example Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, and of course, George Bush Senior. You thought they were thousands of miles away in the safety of America, and Europe, and you are absolutely right.
[On Saddam Hussein]::Rory Bremner: But let's be clear. We're talking about a country where there's no opposition. As leader he can ignore Parliament and - sorry that's Tony Blair isn't it? Um, so he doesn't even have to ask the country before he goes to war - sorry that's still Tony Blair. No, the difference is Saddam rules Iraq through a combination of terror and brutality, backed up by a vicious regime of intimidation and torture - or is that David Blunkett? As absolute ruler Saddam recently claimed 100% victory in a Presidential Election.::John Fortune: Although that's not surprising, given that voters were accompanied into the booths by Saddam's Ba'ath party officials, and given a choice between voting for Saddam or voting for their wives and children to be killed, and their houses to be burnt down.::Peter Snow: And just a bit of fun, just a bit of fun, even small children were counted as supporters on the principal that you might as well throw in the baby with the Ba'ath voter.

MOCKERY OF FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION
This is with reference to an exclusion order issued to Dr Zakir Naik by the British Home Office, UK Border Agency, dated 16th June 2010.
Dr Zakir Naik, the illustrious and eminent speaker from Mumbai, India, is respected and revered throughout the world for his enlightening and convincing efforts promoting similarities between major faiths based on converging values for a common platform of Peace, using the binding commonalities that exist between the religious scriptures including the Bible, Vedas, Torah and Glorious Qur'an.
Following on from recent malicious and specious reports in the British media about the work of Dr Zakir Naik, we are disappointed to learn the British Government has decided to exclude him from visiting the United Kingdom to conduct a Peace Conference Tour between 25th-27th June 2010.
It is deeply regrettable the British Government has bowed to pressure from sectarian and Islamophobic pressure groups by preventing the entry of Dr Zakir Naik, who has been visiting and delivering talks in the United Kingdom for the past 15 years.
In the wake of these inaccurate press reports, Dr Zakir Naik issued a press release in the United Kingdom dated 11th June 2010 which is attached herewith.
The exclusion order issued by the Secretary of Home Department UK, appears to rely mainly on the following four extracts from various talks by Dr Zakir Naik which they found objectionable;
As a student of comparative religion, Dr Zakir Naik has worked tirelessly for the common good amongst people of all faiths engaging in constructive debate and dialogue. These discussions have been hugely successful and have resulted in much progress towards a better understanding of Islam as well as enhanced harmony between people of different beliefs, dispelling fears, suspicions and misunderstandings.
Dr Zakir Naik is undoubtedly an opponent of terrorism and as such has often spoken out against all acts of violence and violent extremism. He has emphatically and unequivocally condemned the killing of civilians and is one of the world's regular noted orators on this topic.
In the wake of the exclusion order and based on legal advice, Dr Zakir Naik intends to bring the matter before the High Court of the United Kingdom and request a Judicial Review to have the exclusion order overturned.
We would request the Indian authorities to engage with and make representations to the British Government about the excellent services and work of Dr Zakir Naik in promoting Peace and social harmony worldwide. We would propose the Indian Government to encourage the British Home Office to revoke the exclusion order and permit the Peace Conference Tour to continue as scheduled, whilst upholding the values of freedom and justice.

The Afghan Taliban say they have set aside differences and aroused around their new pioneer Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour.
The declaration took after weeks of concentrated endeavors to unite the development behind the man who succeeded Taliban organizer Mullah Mohammad Omar.
Taking after the declaration of Omar's demise in July, Mullah Mansour was immediately introduced as the new Amir ul-Mumineen, Commander of the Faithful.
The choice was at first contradicted by some of Mullah Omar's supporters.
The new emir's fundamental challengers were Mullah Omar's sibling and eldest child - up to this point moderately obscure, who scrutinized the way he was selected.
Yet, both in the long run swore faithfulness to Mullah Mansour.
"Mullah Yaqoub, the child and Mullah Manan, the sibling of Mullah Omar, swore their devotions to the new pioneer in an awesome service," Taliban representative Zabiullah Mujahid told a week ago, without uncovering the gathering's area.
"Presently the development will proceed in a united way."
Lately, many Taliban authorities, contenders and ministers went all through Pakistan to attempt to beat the open divisions.
Reports from the Pakistani city of Quetta close to the Afghan fringe said the discussions required neighborhood supporters to host several Taliban in mosques, madrassas and private houses, and sort out transport and supplies.
The undertaking of bringing together the development shows up 'til now fragmented with some senior figures as yet undermining to defy Mansour and run their own particular group and their own particular radical assaults.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan — A dissident faction of the Afghan Taliban said negotiations with new militant leader Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansoor had failed, a development that is likely to split the armed network in two.
The militant group had been in disagreement over who should succeed former supremo Mullah Omar, whose death was announced in July.
"THE DEMANDS WERE VERY SIMPLE. WE WANTED HIM TO STEP DOWN AND LET THE SUPREME COUNCIL APPOINT THE SUCCESSOR TO MULLAH OMAR BY CONSENSUS."
Mansoor, the Taliban's former aviation minister, told his commanders that Omar had died two years ago and declared himself the new Taliban leader. He said Taliban's supreme decision-making body "Rahbari Shura," or Supreme Council, had appointed him as the new leader. Others didn't believe it and opposed his ascension.
It triggered widespread differences within the militant network and many senior Taliban commanders refused to accept Mansoor as leader or work under his command. The Taliban later formed a council of prominent religious scholars, the Ulema Council, to resolve differences between the two rival factions.
A spokesman for the anti-Mansoor faction said their talks failed on Saturday after Mansoor told the Ulema Council that he would not accept any demands of the rival group.
"We and our people remained silent for two months and wanted the Ulema Council to peacefully resolve our differences, but Mullah Mansoor has told the Ulema Council he would not accept our demands," Mullah Manan Niazi, a spokesman for the anti-Mullah Mansoor faction, told NBC News.

"The demands were very simple. We wanted him to step down and let the Supreme Council appoint the successor to Mullah Omar by consensus."
Niazi said they would now launch their own militant operations against U.S.-led foreign forces and the Afghan government and its armed forces in Afghanistan.
"We don't want the Islamic Emirate to break as thousands of mujahideen had sacrificed their lives for establishing it," he said.
He added: "We would announce that working under Mansoor's leadership isn't a jihad. He hasn't been appointed leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan by consensus, therefore we would now publicly oppose him."
Related: Taliban Commanders Unite Behind New Leader
The dissident commanders had aligned behind Omar's son and brother, who had earlier opposed Mansoor's appointment. However, Niazi said the pair joined Mansoor's faction after being placed under financial pressure.
"Both of them were not prominent among the Taliban fighters, but we supported them and wanted to get united all the divided Taliban factions through them, as they belonged to Mullah Omar's family," Niazi said. "However they left us alone and joined our rival faction, headed by Mullah Mansoor."

He alleged that Omar's younger brother, Mullah Abdul Manan, had been receiving money meant for the Islamic Emirate, but Mansoor threatened to stop the flow of funds if he didn't announce his support.
Niazi said several senior members of the Leadership Council and commanders still opposed Mansoor and would soon announce their own operations inside Afghanistan.
Asked if they would launch a separate faction other than the Islamic Emirate run by Mansoor, Niazi said they had founded the Islamic Emirate and are its "real heirs."
"We and our people rendered many sacrifices for the Islamic Emirate," he said.

Calling for unity and quashing rumors about his father's mysterious death amid a leadership dispute, his son said in a statement that Mullah Omar, founder of the Afghan Taliban, died of natural causes in Afghanistan. The dispute within the Taliban threatens a fledgling peace process with the Afghan government and may open the way for Islamic State to expand its toehold of influence. The next day, a hastily convened meeting appointed Omar's deputy, Mullah Mansour, as leader. Omar's eldest son, Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, said in an audio tape released on Sunday night that was authenticated by Taliban sources, "I wanted to assure you that he died a natural death."

On this especially jam-packed episode, we being in Kyrgyzstan where the US Deep State continues to poke and prod the Central Asian nation. We start off by looking at a recent video leaked to Kyrgyz media which shows protest organizer Nurbek Toktakunov meeting with noted “color revolution” expert and Charge d’Affaires of Kyrgyzstan, Richard Miles. We also discuss the other bizarre events going on in Kyrgyzstan the past few months, including a series of mysterious messages posted on social media in the south talking about an Islamic takeover, and the supposed ISIS attack in Bishkek. Later we discuss how these events and the State Department’s giving a human rights award to Azimjon Askarov resulted in the Kyrgyz government’s renunciation of the 1993 Bilateral Agreement with the United States. Christoph and I explain what this means for both nations and why this is a significant development for both countries.
For our second story we move to Xinjiang, and discuss the recent “Ramadan Ban” that continues to be bandied about every single year by usual suspects. Christoph and I break down the reality of China’s so-called ban, and how this has been being used by Turkey in an unprecedented propaganda campaign. We explore not only how the ruling Erdogan government has used anti-Chinese rhetoric, but how the far-right Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) has also contributed to the anti-Chinese Uyghur movement. We chronicle the latest actions by the MHP and their youth wing the Greywolves in organizing violent protests against not just the Chinese government, but Chinese people and businesses in Turkey. We talk about the attack on a local Chinese restaurant, where a Uyghur man thought to be Chinese was beaten, the assault on Korean tourists, the attempted lynching of a random Asian tourist and the assault on the Thai consulate. The latter incident brings us to another part of this story, the “Passports for Uyghurs” affair that we have previously discussed on the podcast. Christoph and I get into much more detail about this whole operation and how it works throughout South East Asia.
For our final story, we move to another location and situation that we have discussed many times before — Afghanistan, and the continuing political developments there. We begin by updating listeners on some previously discussed issues. Christoph and I explore the recent Taliban peace talks in Pakistan, which were declared to be a breakthrough by all parties involved. We also look at the deteriorating security situation in the North in areas such as Faryab province. As Christoph explains, the situation has gotten so bad that warlord-turned-vice-president Abdul Rashid Dostum has teamed up with Governor Atta Noor to take the fight directly to the militants in the north. Later we move on to the most significant development in nation, the official confirmation that Taliban supreme leader Mullah Omar has been dead for two years. We look at why his death is being announced now, while the peace talks are actually progressing. We also dissect the insane several days that followed the confirmation of Mullah Omar death. We look at the election of the new Taliban leader Mullah Mansoor, and how this has fractured the Taliban into different factions. We also focus on the high-profile Taliban leaders, including Mullah Omar’s son Yacub, who are not supporting Mansoor’s ascent to power. We then touch on the other high profile “death” of Hussain Haqqani, and how ISIS is slowly but surely filling the void.
We close with our “weird terrorism” segment, in which we discuss how the US-trained Syrian militia, Division 30, has refused to fight Al Nusra, and take a look at the state of the “moderate rebels.”
This episode is especially long, with a ton of information, so please do go through the show notes. I have also included news clips and still images in the video version. Let me know what you think, and whether you would like to see more of this in the future.
