Charles II may refer to:
"The Man" is a slang phrase that may refer to the government or to some other authority in a position of power. In addition to this derogatory connotation, it may also serve as a term of respect and praise.
The phrase "the Man is keeping me down" is commonly used to describe oppression. The phrase "stick it to the Man" encourages resistance to authority, and essentially means "fight back" or "resist", either passively, openly or via sabotage.
As a phrase meaning "the boss" it dates from at least 1918.
In the Southern U.S. states, the phrase came to be applied to any man or any group in a position of authority, or to authority in the abstract. From about the 1950s the phrase was also an underworld code word for police, the warden of a prison or other law enforcement or penal authorities.
The use of this term was expanded to counterculture groups and their battles against authority, such as the Yippies, which, according to a May 19, 1969 article in U.S. News and World Report, had the "avowed aim ... to destroy 'The Man', their term for the present system of government". The term eventually found its way into humorous usage, such as in a December 1979 motorcycle ad from the magazine Easyriders which featured the tagline, "California residents: Add 6% sales tax for The Man."
Charles II (Spanish: Carlos II) (6 November 1661 – 1 November 1700) was the last Habsburg ruler of Spain. His realm included Southern Netherlands and Spain's overseas empire, stretching from the Americas to the Spanish East Indies. Known as "the Bewitched" (Spanish: el Hechizado), he is noted for his extensive physical, intellectual, and emotional disabilities (the product of generations of inbreeding between the Habsburgs)—along with his consequent ineffectual rule.
He died in 1700, childless and heirless, with all potential Habsburg successors having predeceased him. In his will, Charles named as his successor his 16-year-old grand-nephew, Philip, Duke of Anjou, grandson of Charles' half-sister Maria Theresa of Spain, the first wife of Louis XIV (and thus grandson of the reigning French king Louis XIV). Because the other European powers viewed the prospective dynastic relationship between France and Spain as disturbing the balance of power in Europe, the War of the Spanish Succession ensued shortly after his death.

Ned Kynaston is the assumedly gay cross-dressing actor who has been playing female parts in plays for years, particularly Desdemona in Othello, he also has a close relationship with a member of the Royal Court, the Duke of Buckingham. One day however, the rules of only men playing women could change when aspiring actress Maria auditions as Kynaston's praised role, Desdemona, and soon enough, King Charles II decides to make the law that all female roles should be played only by women. Maria becomes a star, while Ned finds himself out of work. But after a while, Ned finds it in his nature to forgive Maria's aspiration, they may even fall in love, and Charles may proclaim women will be played by either gender.

Plot: A young entertainer, Carole Beaumont, is wooed by actor-producer Charles King but, uncertain of her feelings, she resists his attentions. During an air raid, a bomb explosion rocks the café and Carole is knocked unconscious. In her confused state, fantasies flash through her mind, and she seems to become Nell Gwyn of Old Drury, with Charles King looking very much like King Charles. Recovering, she is advised by her doctor to take a rest in the country and, there, another beau, Albert Gutman, prompts his grandmother, Lady Drayton, to invite Carole to their family home at Windsor. She accepts and telephones Charles but hangs up when his phone is answered by a female voice. Looking out on Windsor Castle, she sees herself as the young Queen Victoria and Albert as Prince Albert. Influenced by her day-dream, she accepts Albert's proposal. Charles arrives to tell her that all arrangements are made for her to leave with him and the company for Burma, but she refuses saying she will never marry an actor. Barmaid Kate tells Charles why Carole feels the way she does about actors: Carole's mother, Lillian Grey, was with a touring show in 1913 when the handsome star, John Beaumont raised her from the chorus to be his partner in his first West End show. They were a success, fell in love and were married. But the war soon took Beau off to Flanders and Lillian was left to become a great star on her own. Carole was born in wartime, but saw little of her busy mother.

Genres: Drama, History,My name is, my name is
My name is, Charles II!
I love the people
And the people love me
So much that they restored
The English monarchy!
I'm part Scottish, French, Italian
A little bit Dane
But one hundred percent party animal
Champagne?
Spaniels I adored
Named after me too
Like me, they were fun
With a nutty hair do!
Is today my birthday?
I can't recall
Let's have a party anyway
Because I love a masked ball!
All hail, the king!
Of bling! Let's sing!
Bells ring! Ding ding!
I'm the king who brought back partying!
King Charles, my daddy
Lost his throne
And kings were banned
They chopped off his head
Then Olly Cromwell ruled the land
Old Olly wasn't jolly
He was glum, and he was proud
Would be miserable as sin
Only sinning's not allowed!
When Olly died, the people said
'Charlie, me hearty!
Get rid of his dull laws
Come back, we'd rather party!'
This action's what they called
The monarchy restoration
Which naturally was followed
By a huge celebration!
The King of Eng! (Land say!)
No sin! Too sing! (Okay!)
Or anything!
All say, I'm the king who brought back partying!
Great London Fire was a whopper!
In my reign, London city came a-cropper!
So this king did what was right and proper
Fought the fire, proved I'm more than a bopper
I'm a fire stopper!
Married Catherine Braganza
She was a love so true
There would never be another
Well... maybe one or two!
Lucy Walter, Nell Gwynne
Moll Davies, Barbara Villiers
You think that's bad
But her name's not as silly as...
Hortense Mancini!
As king, I must admit
I broke the wedding rules
But who cares when I brought back
The crown jewels?
I reinstated Christmas
Make up, sports and even plays
I was the merry monarch
They were good old days!
When said and done!
King Charles did run!
England for fun!
I was the king loved by everyone
My song is done!
