The flag of the United States of America, often referred to as the American flag, is the national flag of the United States. It consists of thirteen equal horizontal stripes of red (top and bottom) alternating with white, with a blue rectangle in the canton (referred to specifically as the "union") bearing fifty small, white, five-pointed stars arranged in nine offset horizontal rows of six stars (top and bottom) alternating with rows of five stars. The 50 stars on the flag represent the 50 states of the United States of America, and the 13 stripes represent the thirteen British colonies that declared independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain, and became the first states in the Union. Nicknames for the flag include the Stars and Stripes,Old Glory, and the Star-Spangled Banner.
The design of the flag has been modified 26 times officially since 1777. The 48-star flag was in effect for 47 years until the 49-star version became official on July 4, 1959. The 50-star flag was ordered by President Eisenhower on August 21, 1959 and was adopted in July 1960. It is the longest-used version of the U.S. flag and has been in use for over 55 years.
Drew Christopher Brees (/ˈbriːs/;) (born January 15, 1979) is an American football quarterback for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). After a prolific college football career at Purdue University, he was chosen by the San Diego Chargers with the first pick in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft. He left college as one of the most-decorated players in Purdue and Big Ten Conference history, establishing two NCAA records, 13 Big Ten Conference records and 19 Purdue University records. He remains the Big Ten record-holder in virtually every passing category, including completions (1,026), yards (11,792) and touchdowns (90).
Brees started his career with the San Diego Chargers, earning the starting job in 2002 and making the Pro Bowl in 2004. Nine months after suffering a bad dislocation in his shoulder joint and a 360 degree tear of his labrum and rotator cuff, Brees signed with the New Orleans Saints as a free agent, where he met immediate success, earning eight trips to the Pro Bowl and leading the Saints to their first Super Bowl. Since joining the Saints in 2006, he has led all NFL quarterbacks in touchdowns, passing yards and 300-yard games. He was the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year in 2004, the Offensive Player of the Year in 2008 and 2011, and the MVP of Super Bowl XLIV. Sports Illustrated named Brees its 2010 Sportsman of the Year.
The centuries lead to encrusted tombs and
The sun dies as night comes to pass
With daylight and dawn wrapped in wombs and
The sun dies down
The moon rises high
Another day gone
In time's painted sky
What did you do
When did you do it
And are you happy
As the wheel turns
Through it
Action and reason move faster by the day
Hour after hour, second after second, on and on
The end of it all comes like faster than you think it
And what comes next is result of what you brought
At the time of your reckoning will you say no
To the charges against you or will you accept
We are the guilty, innocent, and framed all in one now
And the sentence for every man is death
The sun dies down
The moon rises high
Another day gone
In time's painted sky
What did you do
When did you do it
And are you happy
As the wheel turns
Through it
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
9 and 10, ll and 12
One more step and the hour of the dead comes
So what will you say to God and the devil?
Day after day
Hour after hour
Minute after minute
Second after second
Clock moving faster
Hands moving closer
Time is moving now
To the end
To the end
To the end
To the end
To the end
The sun dies down
The moon rises high
Another day gone
In time's painted sky
What did you do
When did you do it
And are you happy
As the wheel turns
Through it
The night comes abroad
The day goes by
Another life passing
In the cycle of God's rhyme
What did you do
And what did you do with it
And are you happy
As the wheel turns
As the wheel turns
As the wheel turns
