BBC's classic 1998 account of Malayan Emergency with guerrilla leader Chin Peng narrated by Ben Kingsley
The Malayan Hymn is Malayan Colleges Laguna's school song. Lyrics: With a whizzy wisk of tech, Or a dash of skills and care, A masterly stroke of art, We help advance man’s welfare; ‘Tis our human part. We all say, “All hands on deck, O’ there at the frontlines, Malayan. O’ here in our hearts and in our minds, Malayan!” Wisdom of the centuries, With your streams and eddies, Enfold our beings Provoke our genes Here at Malayan! As we do our very best, With excellence imbued, We stand to the test And dedicate ourselves anew. To the limits we push on. We declare, “give to the chest, O’ there at the frontiers, Malayan. O’ here in our hears and in our minds, Malayan!” Knowledge of the ages, Take us to your edges. We’ll push them farther And wield you further Here at Malayan! http://mcl.ed...
The Malayan Emergency was a the deadliest guerrilla war fought by the Commonwealth armed forces. The war with the Malayan National Liberation Army (MNLA), the military arm of the Malayan Communist Party, from 1948 to 1960 was an important part of Britain's colonial past. The Malayan Emergency was the colonial government's term for the conflict. The Communists termed it the Anti-British National Liberation War. The rubber plantations and tin mining industries had pushed for the use of the term "emergency" since their losses would not have been covered by Lloyd's insurers if it had been termed a "war." Despite the communists' defeat in 1960, communist leader Chin Peng renewed the insurgency in 1967; it would last until 1989, and became known as the Communist Insurgency War. Although Australi...

If you need somebody to love
Just look into my eyes
I'll be there to make you feel right
If you're feeling sorry and sad
I'd really sympathize
Don't you be sad, just call me tonight
Any time at all, any time at all
Any time at all
All you've gotta do is call and I'll be there
Any time at all, any time at all
Any time at all
All you've gotta do is call and I'll be there
If the sun has faded away
I'll try to make it shine
There's nothing I won't do
If you need a shoulder to cry on
I hope it will be mine
Call me tonight, and I'll come to you
Any time at all, any time at all
Any time at all
All you've gotta do is call and I'll be there
Any time at all, any time at all
Any time at all
