Kuala Lumpur Sentral (KL Sentral) or Sentral Kuala Lumpur is a transit-oriented development that houses the main railway station of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Opened on 16 April 2001, KL Sentral replaced the old Kuala Lumpur railway station as the city's main intercity railway station. KL Sentral is the largest railway station in Malaysia.
KL Sentral is designed as an intermodal transport hub. Most of Kuala Lumpur's passenger rail lines serve KL Sentral, while many intercity trains serving Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore start there. All the railway components of the scheme have been completed, but some other parts such as shopping malls, offices and apartments are still under construction and are expected to be complete by 2015. It was also designed to be a new business and financial hub for Kuala Lumpur.
KL Sentral refers to the entire 290,000 square metres of development built on the former Keretapi Tanah Melayu marshalling yard in Brickfields. The development includes the transport hub, hotels, office towers, condominiums and shopping malls and is expected to be completed in 2015.

I took the ETS Platinum from KL Sentral to Butterworth. My journey to Penang started with a comfortable ride on the ETS Platinum. I booked the 9am train from KL Sentral, which departed on time. As compared to the ETS Silver and Gold, ETS Platinum makes less stop so we arrived at Butterworth in around 4 hours. Just some notes. 1. Bookings can be done at https://intranet.ktmb.com.my/e-ticket/login.aspx and immediately print your e-ticket.You may need to register an account first but that'll take you a few minutes only. 2. During this trip, my ticket price was RM79. My mum's ticket (senior citizen) is priced at RM44. Both tickets were charged RM2 extra for internet banking charges. 3. Ensure that you book the right seat, based on your preference. Some seats face north, some south. C...

In this video we travel from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Singapore. KTM Intercity (Malay: KTM Antarabandar) is the brand name for a group of diesel-hauled intercity train services in Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB). Most services operate from Kuala Lumpur Sentral station in the Malaysian capital. A few operate solely along the East Coast line between Tumpat and Gemas and on to Singapore. There is also one cross-border train daily between Butterworth, Penang and Hat Yai, Thailand. This is a travel video of us boarding the LRT from KL Sentral Station to KLCC at night to see the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We were lucky enough to get to the front of the train where we could film out of the window with our camcorder on a tripod. The footage captured here is in high speed motion. We hope you enjoy the journey as much as we did. The continuation of the Malayan Railway Vlog series starting by episode 5. Effective 19 May 2016, only 1 KTM Intercity train remaining in the West Coast which is Ekspres Selatan ES40/41 from JB Sentral to Tampin as north of Tampin in the West Coast, all train services are replaced by ETS. So I went for a joyride to Tampin with the ETS then continuing to Gemas on the Ekspres Selatan ES41 and return to KL Sentral with the ETS again. And that is the only KTM Intercity train ride nearest to KL. The Ekspres Selatan ES41 today is only bringing 2 ASCs and 1 PGC hauled by a 24 Class. Before, it used to be 3 ASCs and 1 PGC hauled by a 25 Class but the coaches that they supposed to use is the Indonesian made INKA coaches. Thank you for watching my video.
