Well it was a very pleasant surprise to find my latest crime novel has been shortlisted for the Aus equivalent of the Golden Dagger, especially as these days there are so many terrific Australian novels in this genre. Mind you City of Light and Big Bad Blood didn’t crack a guernsey back in the day with less competition and they were every bit as good as BIB so I won’t be holding my breath.
I do want to thank all of you who have bought the book – or any of my books for that matter – without your support there is no chance for publication or awards of any kind. I’m also very grateful to my editor Georgia Richter who really squeezed the best out of the novel. By the way, my latest novel is well on the way, pairing Snowy Lane from City of Light with Dan Clement of Before It Breaks.
