All this Star Wars talk may have some people forgetting that there’s another big, beloved universe on the horizon: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. We are slowly learning more and more about the film, most recently its PG-13 rating and a rumor of an upcoming trailer release. It would seem writer and executive producer David Goyer and company learned a thing or two about secrecy from working with Christopher Nolan, because they intend to keep it that way. That doesn’t mean, however, Goyer won't offer some excitement about the film.
While promoting Da Vinci’s Demons season 3, Goyer spoke with Steve about some of his upcoming projects, including his collaboration with Joseph Gordon-Levitt for a film adaptation of the comic series Sandman. Steve took the opportunity to ask some questions about Batman v. Superman. Watch what he had to say below, and scroll through for his quotes.
When asked about his reaction to seeing the movie for the first time, Goyer said he responded with the “giddiness” of someone who grew up a fan of the comics:
I think just the kind of giddiness in being a kid that grew up going to the comic book store every Saturday and reading comic books in which these two epic characters clashed. Just the fact that I got to be involved in something like that is crazy. Much less that I got to be involved in two cinematic iterations of Batman is also crazy.
It is pretty neat that Goyer is both directly involved with this iteration and was heavily involved in Nolan’s take on the character of Batman; in fact, Christian Bale’s incarnation of Batman could be considered both Goyer’s and Nolan’s take. Given that, it’ll be interesting to see if any of the same threads cross over to the newest iteration with Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight and Zach Snyder directing. Actually, comparing the writing, directing, general tone and atmosphere between the two series, which will feature the same central character and writer, but played by different actors and overseen by different directors, will be quite fascinating.
Steve went on to ask Goyer if his reaction to seeing the iconic confrontation between Batman and Superman for the first time was similar to the way he felt when he first saw Man of Steel, or if it in fact exceeded those expectations. After some hemming and hawing, Goyer offered up this non-answer:
I mean…There’s some cool stuff that happens in the film, let’s just leave it at that.
That’s probably the most information we’ll get from anyone involved with this movie at the moment. Yet, it’s enough to make me want to see it.
We’ll find out what “cool stuff” happens when Batman v Superman opens in theaters March 25, 2016.

David S. Goyer
David Samuel Goyer (born December 22, 1965) is an American screenwriter, film director, novelist, and comic book writer.
His screenwriting works includes the Blade trilogy, Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, Dark City and Man of Steel, and he directed four feature films: Zig Zag, Blade: Trinity, The Invisible, and The Unborn.
Goyer was also co-writer of the video games Call of Duty: Black Ops and its sequel Call of Duty: Black Ops II. He won a Saturn Award for Best Writing for Batman Begins and received another nomination for Dark City, and has been nominated for four Hugo Awards.
Early life
Goyer and his brother Jeff were born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and were raised by their mother. He is Jewish on his mother's side, and attended Hebrew school. He has stated that in regular school, "a lot kids beat me up, saying that I killed Christ. I was very consciously different... I grew up with something of a chip on my shoulder." Goyer is an alumnus of Huron High School and the University of Southern California, graduating from the School of Cinema-Television in 1988.

Green Lantern
Green Lantern is the name of a number of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. They fight evil with the aid of rings that grant them a variety of extraordinary powers.
The first Green Lantern character, Alan Scott, was created in 1940 during the initial popularity of superheroes. Alan Scott usually fought common criminals in New York City with the aid of his magic ring. The publication of this character ceased in 1949 during a general decline in the popularity of superhero comics, but the character saw a limited revival in later decades.
In 1959, to capitalize on the booming popularity of science fiction, the Green Lantern character was reinvented as Hal Jordan, an officer for an interstellar law enforcement agency known as the Green Lantern Corps. Additional members of this agency, all of whom call themselves Green Lanterns, were introduced over time. Prominent Green Lanterns who also have had starring roles in the books include Guy Gardner, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, and Simon Baz.

Batman Begins
Batman Begins is a 2005 superhero film based on the fictional DC Comics character Batman, co-written and directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Katie Holmes, Gary Oldman, Cillian Murphy, Tom Wilkinson, Rutger Hauer, Ken Watanabe, and Morgan Freeman. The film reboots the Batman film series, telling the origin story of the title character (Bale), from his alter ego Bruce Wayne's initial fear of bats, the death of his parents, his journey to become Batman, and his fight to stop Ra's al Ghul (Watanabe) and the Scarecrow (Murphy) from plunging Gotham City into chaos. It draws inspiration from classic comic book storylines such as The Man Who Falls, Batman: Year One, and Batman: The Long Halloween.
After a series of unsuccessful projects to resurrect Batman on screen following the critical failure and box office disappointment of Batman & Robin (1997), Nolan and David S. Goyer began to work on the film in early 2003 and aimed for a darker and more realistic tone, with humanity and realism being the basis of the film. The goal was to get the audience to care for both Batman and Bruce Wayne. The film, which was primarily shot in Iceland and Chicago, relied on traditional stunts and miniatures – computer-generated imagery was used minimally.

All this Star Wars talk may have some people forgetting that there’s another big, beloved universe on the horizon: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. We are slowly learning more and more about the film, most recently its PG-13 rating and a rumor of an upcoming trailer release. It would seem writer and executive producer David Goyer and company learned a thing or two about secrecy from working with Christopher Nolan, because they intend to keep it that way. That doesn’t mean, however, Goyer won't offer some excitement about the film. While promoting Da Vinci’s Demons season 3, Goyer spoke with Steve about some of his upcoming projects, including his collaboration with Joseph Gordon-Levitt for a film adaptation of the comic series Sandman. Steve took the opportunity to ask some questions about Batman v. Superman. Watch what he had to say below, and scroll through for his quotes. When asked about his reaction to seeing the movie for the first time, Goyer said he responded with the “giddiness” of someone who grew up a fan of the comics: I think just the kind of giddiness in being a kid that grew up going to the comic book store every Saturday and reading comic books in which these two epic characters clashed. Just the fact that I got to be involved in something like that is crazy. Much less that I got to be involved in two cinematic iterations of Batman is also crazy. It is pretty neat that Goyer is both directly involved with this iteration and was heavily involved in Nolan’s take on the character of Batman; in fact, Christian Bale’s incarnation of Batman could be considered both Goyer’s and Nolan’s take. Given that, it’ll be interesting to see if any of the same threads cross over to the newest iteration with Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight and Zach Snyder directing. Actually, comparing the writing, directing, general tone and atmosphere between the two series, which will feature the same central character and writer, but played by different actors and overseen by different directors, will be quite fascinating. Steve went on to ask Goyer if his reaction to seeing the iconic confrontation between Batman and Superman for the first time was similar to the way he felt when he first saw Man of Steel, or if it in fact exceeded those expectations. After some hemming and hawing, Goyer offered up this non-answer: I mean…There’s some cool stuff that happens in the film, let’s just leave it at that. That’s probably the most information we’ll get from anyone involved with this movie at the moment. Yet, it’s enough to make me want to see it. All this Star Wars talk may have some people forgetting that there’s another big, beloved universe on the horizon: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. We are slowly learning more and more about the film, most recently its PG-13 rating and a rumor of an upcoming trailer release. It would seem writer and executive producer David Goyer and company learned a thing or two about secrecy from working with Christopher Nolan, because they intend to keep it that way. That doesn’t mean, however, Goyer won't offer some excitement about the film.
While promoting Da Vinci’s Demons season 3, Goyer spoke with Steve about some of his upcoming projects, including his collaboration with Joseph Gordon-Levitt for a film adaptation of the comic series Sandman. Steve took the opportunity to ask some questions about Batman v. Superman. Watch what he had to say below, and scroll through for his quotes.
When asked about his reaction to seeing the movie for the first time, Goyer said he responded with the “giddiness” of someone who grew up a fan of the comics:
I think just the kind of giddiness in being a kid that grew up going to the comic book store every Saturday and reading comic books in which these two epic characters clashed. Just the fact that I got to be involved in something like that is crazy. Much less that I got to be involved in two cinematic iterations of Batman is also crazy.
It is pretty neat that Goyer is both directly involved with this iteration and was heavily involved in Nolan’s take on the character of Batman; in fact, Christian Bale’s incarnation of Batman could be considered both Goyer’s and Nolan’s take. Given that, it’ll be interesting to see if any of the same threads cross over to the newest iteration with Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight and Zach Snyder directing. Actually, comparing the writing, directing, general tone and atmosphere between the two series, which will feature the same central character and writer, but played by different actors and overseen by different directors, will be quite fascinating.
Steve went on to ask Goyer if his reaction to seeing the iconic confrontation between Batman and Superman for the first time was similar to the way he felt when he first saw Man of Steel, or if it in fact exceeded those expectations. After some hemming and hawing, Goyer offered up this non-answer:
I mean…There’s some cool stuff that happens in the film, let’s just leave it at that.
That’s probably the most information we’ll get from anyone involved with this movie at the moment. Yet, it’s enough to make me want to see it.
We’ll find out what “cool stuff” happens when Batman v Superman opens in theaters March 25, 2016.

All this Star Wars talk may have some people forgetting that there’s another big, beloved universe on the horizon: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. We are slowly learning more and more about the film, most recently its PG-13 rating and a rumor of an upcoming trailer release. It would seem writer and executive producer David Goyer and company learned a thing or two about secrecy from working with Christopher Nolan, because they intend to keep it that way. That doesn’t mean, however, Goyer won't offer some excitement about the film.
While promoting Da Vinci’s Demons season 3, Goyer spoke with Steve about some of his upcoming projects, including his collaboration with Joseph Gordon-Levitt for a film adaptation of the comic series Sandman. Steve took the opportunity to ask some questions about Batman v. Superman. Watch what he had to say below, and scroll through for his quotes.
When asked about his reaction to seeing the movie for the first time, Goyer said he responded with the “giddiness” of someone who grew up a fan of the comics:
I think just the kind of giddiness in being a kid that grew up going to the comic book store every Saturday and reading comic books in which these two epic characters clashed. Just the fact that I got to be involved in something like that is crazy. Much less that I got to be involved in two cinematic iterations of Batman is also crazy.
It is pretty neat that Goyer is both directly involved with this iteration and was heavily involved in Nolan’s take on the character of Batman; in fact, Christian Bale’s incarnation of Batman could be considered both Goyer’s and Nolan’s take. Given that, it’ll be interesting to see if any of the same threads cross over to the newest iteration with Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight and Zach Snyder directing. Actually, comparing the writing, directing, general tone and atmosphere between the two series, which will feature the same central character and writer, but played by different actors and overseen by different directors, will be quite fascinating.
Steve went on to ask Goyer if his reaction to seeing the iconic confrontation between Batman and Superman for the first time was similar to the way he felt when he first saw Man of Steel, or if it in fact exceeded those expectations. After some hemming and hawing, Goyer offered up this non-answer:
I mean…There’s some cool stuff that happens in the film, let’s just leave it at that.
That’s probably the most information we’ll get from anyone involved with this movie at the moment. Yet, it’s enough to make me want to see it.
We’ll find out what “cool stuff” happens when Batman v Superman opens in theaters March 25, 2016.

All this Star Wars talk may have some people forgetting that there’s another big, beloved universe on the horizon: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. We are slowly learning more and more about the film, most recently its PG-13 rating and a rumor of an upcoming trailer release. It would seem writer and executive producer David Goyer and company learned a thing or two about secrecy from working with Christopher Nolan, because they intend to keep it that way. That doesn’t mean, however, Goyer won't offer some excitement about the film. All this Star Wars talk may have some people forgetting that there’s another big, beloved universe on the horizon: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. We are slowly learning more and more about the film, most recently its PG-13 rating and a rumor of an upcoming trailer release. It would seem writer and executive producer David Goyer and company learned a thing or two about secrecy from working with Christopher Nolan, because they intend to keep it that way. That doesn’t mean, however, Goyer won't offer some excitement about the film.
While promoting Da Vinci’s Demons season 3, Goyer spoke with Steve about some of his upcoming projects, including his collaboration with Joseph Gordon-Levitt for a film adaptation of the comic series Sandman. Steve took the opportunity to ask some questions about Batman v. Superman. Watch what he had to say below, and scroll through for his quotes.
When asked about his reaction to seeing the movie for the first time, Goyer said he responded with the “giddiness” of someone who grew up a fan of the comics:
I think just the kind of giddiness in being a kid that grew up going to the comic book store every Saturday and reading comic books in which these two epic characters clashed. Just the fact that I got to be involved in something like that is crazy. Much less that I got to be involved in two cinematic iterations of Batman is also crazy.
It is pretty neat that Goyer is both directly involved with this iteration and was heavily involved in Nolan’s take on the character of Batman; in fact, Christian Bale’s incarnation of Batman could be considered both Goyer’s and Nolan’s take. Given that, it’ll be interesting to see if any of the same threads cross over to the newest iteration with Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight and Zach Snyder directing. Actually, comparing the writing, directing, general tone and atmosphere between the two series, which will feature the same central character and writer, but played by different actors and overseen by different directors, will be quite fascinating.
Steve went on to ask Goyer if his reaction to seeing the iconic confrontation between Batman and Superman for the first time was similar to the way he felt when he first saw Man of Steel, or if it in fact exceeded those expectations. After some hemming and hawing, Goyer offered up this non-answer:
I mean…There’s some cool stuff that happens in the film, let’s just leave it at that.
That’s probably the most information we’ll get from anyone involved with this movie at the moment. Yet, it’s enough to make me want to see it.
We’ll find out what “cool stuff” happens when Batman v Superman opens in theaters March 25, 2016.

A female prison guard has spoken of savage beatings and killings at a North Korean camp. Lim Hye-jin says she was so traumatised that she could not eat for days afterwards. One of the worst episodes was the killing of seven family members of two brothers who managed to escape. Many more prisoners were beaten as revenge for the prison breakout.
