This is a video on some basic principles of basic usage of the flight director modes and a few other PFD Essentials.
This video looks at the Flight Director feature in a cockpit and explains how it works along with an Autopilot to guide the pilot. I also include some gameplay footage from Microsoft Flight Simulator X (FSX) to show the Flight Director in use. The Apollo 13 Flight Director loop during the oxygen tank failure and the events following the accident, starting from the end of the last TV transmission from 13, about 8½ minutes before the accident, during the White Team shift led by Gene Kranz. Timing Disclaimer: These tapes, when digitised, were apparently played back slightly off realtime speed. I've attempted to correct some of it, but there may still be some timing errors.
This is actually part 2 of my video like this. It begins just as Mission Control starts to lose data and contact with the shuttle through when I changed the channel to join the network coverage. Here is the NASA TV coverage of the STS-107 landing. I have overlayed the Flight Directors audio loop on my video I recorded from that morning.

Andrea Accomazzo: Flight Director della missione Rosetta
The Apollo 13 Flight Director loop during the oxygen tank failure and the events following the accident, starting from the end of the last TV transmission from 13, about 8½ minutes before the accident, during the White Team shift led by Gene Kranz. Timing Disclaimer: These tapes, when digitised, were apparently played back slightly off realtime speed. I've attempted to correct some of it, but there may still be some timing errors.
With attempts to save the Command/Service Module's remaining oxygen tank proving unsuccessful, Glynn Lunney's Black Team face a race against time to activate the Lunar Module before the Command Module loses power.
As the Lunar Module is running high on cooling water consumption for the primary guidance and navigation system (PGNS), it is decided to make an early maneuver to put Apollo 13 back on a free return trajectory.
