This election year, America’s two presidential candidates have given the economy center stage. Both candidates are focused on bolstering economic growth, but offer two very different approaches. Our Private Bank panel notes that despite what we see on the news, the economy is resilient and large-scale economic change is unlikely.
Planning for your children’s future? The two presidential candidates’ policy proposals on education and estate planning are two key ways that the next generation could feel the effects of this year’s election.
Take the tax-policy rhetoric from both candidates with a large grain of salt. The 2016 election offers widely varying visions for tax reform. While both presidential candidates propose significant changes to the tax code, smaller policy changes are a more likely outcome, regardless of who’s elected.
Investors: Is your portfolio election-proof? By maintaining a steadfast focus on fundamental goals and strategies, investors can make it through the kind of market fluctuations and periods of uncertainty that elections can often create. Focusing on the long-term, and remembering that things always settle down after turbulent elections is key.
How will the election’s outcome affect your retirement goals? A number of issues are on the table that will affect retirees and those ready to retire, including the ways Americans will pay for those retirement benefits.
