The AMERIKA video was filmed in the ruins of the former chemical factory in Rüdersdorf near Berlin under the direction of Jörn Heitmann. It was the fourth video he directed for Rammstein. For two days, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., the band stood in front of the cameras. The spacesuits for the moon scenes were rented from Hollywood and 240 tons of ash were needed to create the moon landscape.
Biography:
Rammstein was formed in 1993 by an ensemble of factory-weary proletarians raised in East Germany. They took their name (adding an "m") from the location of a German tragedy where 80 people were injured and killed as the result of a crash during an American Air Force air show. The literal translation of "Ram Stein" is a battering ram made of stone.
Word of Rammstein's horror/romanticist blend of theater and music - spread quickly - one-time Olympic swimmer Till Lindemann would sometimes sing entire songs engulfed in flame from head to toe. The band's first album, HERZELEID (English: Heartache), elaborated on the foundations set by the band's live reputation. Scaling the German charts, and remaining there until the release of the second Rammstein LP some two years later, the album also introduced the band to the world outside of the Germany/Switzerland/Austria region.
As Rammstein's second album, SEHNSUCHT (English: Longing), was released, the band was playing headlines shows across Europe to crowds of 10,000 to 30,000 people. SEHNSUCHT entered the German charts at number one immediately upon its release and came very close to doing the same in Austria and Switzerland. Within weeks, entries on other countries' charts had SEHNSUCHT rubbing elbows with The Prodigy, Radiohead, and The Rolling Stones on Billboard's cumulative Eurochart. From there the fever spread, transcending any perceived language barrier.
MUTTER followed in 2001, REISE, REISE in 2004, and the live collection VOLKERBALL in 2006. LIEBE IST FÜR ALLE DA followed in 2009. A limited edition of the album was packed in a metal suitcase that also housed six sex toys, one for each member of the band.

"Amerika" -- suggesting a Russified name for the United States -- is an American television miniseries that was broadcast in 1987 on ABC. It starred Kris Kristofferson, Mariel Hemingway, Sam Neill, Robert Urich, and a 17-year-old Lara Flynn Boyle in her first major role. "Amerika" was about life in the United States after a bloodless takeover by the Soviet Union. Not wanting to depict the actual coup, ABC Entertainment president Brandon Stoddard instead chose to set the action of the miniseries ten years after the event, focusing on the demoralized American people a decade after the Soviet conquest. The intent, he later explained, was to explore the American spirit under such conditions, not to portray the conflict of the Soviet takeover.
Described in promotional materials as "the most ambitious American miniseries ever created," Amerika aired for 14½ hours (including commercials) over seven nights, and reportedly cost US$40 million to produce. The program was filmed in Toronto, London, and Hamilton, Ontario, as well as various locations in Nebraska -- most notably the small town of Tecumseh and Milford, the setting for most of the action of the series. I mean, they look at what we did in Iraq as terrorism. And it was state-sponsored terrorism, you know? I'm in an awkward position because I grew up in the Second World War, and before, during, and after, and believing in God and honor and country and duty. And, I still respect the troops. Lil Wayne
Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. (born September 27, 1982), better known by his stage name Lil Wayne, is an American hip hop recording artist from New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1991, at the age of nine, Lil Wayne joined Cash Money Records as the youngest member of the label, and half of the duo The B.G.'z, alongside fellow New Orleans-based rapper Lil' Doogie. In 1996, Lil Wayne formed the southern hip hop group Hot Boys, with his Cash Money label-mates Juvenile, Young Turk and Lil' Doogie (who now goes by B.G.). Hot Boys debuted with Get It How U Live!, that same year. Most of the group's success came with their platinum-selling album Guerrilla Warfare (1999) and the 1999 single "Bling Bling". Along with being the flagship artist of Cash Money Records, Lil Wayne is also the chief executive officer (CEO) of his own label imprint, Young Money Entertainment, which he founded in 2005.
Lil Wayne's solo debut album Tha Block Is Hot (1999), was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His subsequent albums, Lights Out (2000) and 500 Degreez (2002), went on to be certified gold. Wayne reached higher popularity with his fourth album Tha Carter (2004), which was led by the single "Go D.J." and his appearance on Destiny's Child's Top 10 single "Soldier", that same year. The album was followed by Tha Carter II (2005), as well as several mixtapes and collaborations throughout 2006 and 2007. Plot: Amerika, Zed and Kyle are good friends until the excitingly undermedicated bitch goddess Trasha enters the frame, cutting Kyle off from his friends and their vacuous and unencumbered world of beer and porn. They took their name (adding an "m") from the location of a German tragedy where 80 people were injured and killed as the result of a crash during an American Air Force air show. The literal translation of "Ram Stein" is a battering ram made of stone.
Word of Rammstein's horror/romanticist blend of theater and music - spread quickly - one-time Olympic swimmer Till Lindemann would sometimes sing entire songs engulfed in flame from head to toe. The band's first album, HERZELEID (English: Heartache), elaborated on the foundations set by the band's live reputation. Scaling the German charts, and remaining there until the release of the second Rammstein LP some two years later, the album also introduced the band to the world outside of the Germany/Switzerland/Austria region.
As Rammstein's second album, SEHNSUCHT (English: Longing), was released, the band was playing headlines shows across Europe to crowds of 10,000 to 30,000 people. SEHNSUCHT entered the German charts at number one immediately upon its release and came very close to doing the same in Austria and Switzerland. Within weeks, entries on other countries' charts had SEHNSUCHT rubbing elbows with The Prodigy, Radiohead, and The Rolling Stones on Billboard's cumulative Eurochart. From there the fever spread, transcending any perceived language barrier.
MUTTER followed in 2001, REISE, REISE in 2004, and the live collection VOLKERBALL in 2006. LIEBE IST FÜR ALLE DA followed in 2009. A limited edition of the album was packed in a metal suitcase that also housed six sex toys, one for each member of the band.

"Amerika" -- suggesting a Russified name for the United States -- is an American television miniseries that was broadcast in 1987 on ABC. It starred Kris Kristofferson, Mariel Hemingway, Sam Neill, Robert Urich, and a 17-year-old Lara Flynn Boyle in her first major role. "Amerika" was about life in the United States after a bloodless takeover by the Soviet Union. Not wanting to depict the actual coup, ABC Entertainment president Brandon Stoddard instead chose to set the action of the miniseries ten years after the event, focusing on the demoralized American people a decade after the Soviet conquest. The intent, he later explained, was to explore the American spirit under such conditions, not to portray the conflict of the Soviet takeover.
Described in promotional materials as "the most ambitious American miniseries ever created," Amerika aired for 14½ hours (including commercials) over seven nights, and reportedly cost US$40 million to produce. The program was filmed in Toronto, London, and Hamilton, Ontario, as well as various locations in Nebraska -- most notably the small town of Tecumseh and Milford, the setting for most of the action of the series. Donald Wrye was the executive producer, director, and sole writer of Amerika, while composer Basil Poledouris was hired to score the miniseries, ultimately recording (with the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra) eight hours of music -- the equivalent of four feature films. I mean, they look at what we did in Iraq as terrorism. And it was state-sponsored terrorism, you know? I'm in an awkward position because I grew up in the Second World War, and before, during, and after, and believing in God and honor and country and duty. And, I still respect the troops.
