True flies are insects of the order Diptera (from the Greek di = two, and ptera = wings). Born to a large family from Charlemagne, Quebec, Dion emerged as a teen star in the French-speaking world after her manager and future husband René Angélil mortgaged his home to finance her first record. Slug would later describe the song as one he 'wasn't supposed to write and marks the 2005 album as a whole as a beginning point of more positive storytelling in his music. In November 2013, a limited edition vinyl pressing was released in celebration of the album's tenth anniversary. It contains the album's original cover, alongside bonus tracks. This is that pressing plus the instrumentals.
