The hardware would be the doors, locks, alarm systems, lighting, motion detectors, and cameras systems that is installed on your property. Personal security practices would be ensuring doors are locked, alarms activated, windows closed and many other routine tasks which act to prevent a burglary.

Forecasts suggest the DIY home security market will be a $1.5 billion market by 2020. Data from Alarm System Reports show 2 million homes were burglarized in 2014. This is my SimpliSafe Home Security System. This Simplisafe Review contains a review on the actual system, as well as the iPhone Application. This is my SimpliSafe Home Security System. This Simplisafe Review contains a review on the actual system, as well as the iPhone Application. Shortly after doing my Simplisafe review they added the Pin # to the iPhone app to help make it secure -- YAY!
I installed everything myself (basically its just peeling and sticking sensors). There are no wires that need to be ran for this system as it is completely wireless.
All Sensors run on CR123 Lithium batteries which typically will last 5 years in this scenario.
