Minute Maid Park, previously known as The Ballpark at Union Station, Enron Field, and Astros Field, is a ballpark in Downtown Houston, Texas, United States, that opened in 2000 to house the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB). The ballpark is Houston's first retractable-roofed stadium, and features a natural grass playing field. The ballpark was built as a replacement of the Astrodome, the first domed sports stadium ever built, which opened in 1965. It is named for soft drink brand Minute Maid, a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company, which acquired naming rights in 2002 for $100 million over 30 years. As of 2015, Minute Maid Park has a seating capacity of 41,574, which includes 5,095 club seats and 63 luxury suites.
The largest entrance to the park is inside what was once Houston's Union Station, and the left-field side of the stadium features a railway as homage to the site's history. The train moves along a track on top of the length of the exterior wall beyond left field whenever an Astros player hits a home run, and/or the Astros win a game. The engine's coal car is filled with giant oranges in reference to Minute Maid's most famous product, orange juice.
Minute Maid is a product line of beverages, usually associated with lemonade or orange juice, but now extends to soft drinks of many kinds, including Hi-C. Minute Maid is sold under Cappy brand in Central Europe and under Fruitopia in Norway.
Minute Maid was the first company to market orange juice concentrate, allowing it to be distributed throughout the United States and served year-round. The Minute Maid company is owned by The Coca-Cola Company, and is the world's largest marketer of fruit juices and drinks. The firm opened its headquarters in Sugar Land Town Square in Sugar Land, Texas, United States, on February 16, 2009; previously it was headquartered in the 2000 St. James Place building in Houston.
The company was originally incorporated in 1945 as Florida Foods, Inc. It employs over 1,900 people and has over $2 billion in sales (1997 est.).
In 1945, the National Research Corporation (NRC) of Boston, Massachusetts, developed a method of concentrating orange juice into a powder using a high-vacuum evaporation process previously developed for dehydrating medical products for use in the U.S. war effort. The US Army had a need for 500,000 lb (227,000 kg) for the war, so NRC created a new branch, the Florida Foods Corporation. Led by John M. Fox, the company won the government contract for $750,000. The war ended and the contract was canceled before the factory could be built, but with investment, the company moved forward with a product.
The Houston Astros are an American professional baseball team located in Houston, Texas. The Astros are members of the American League (AL) West division in Major League Baseball (MLB), having moved to the division in 2013 after spending their first 51 seasons in the National League (NL). The Astros have played their home games at Minute Maid Park since 2000.
The Astros were established as the Houston Colt .45s and entered the National League in 1962 with the expansion New York Mets. The current name was adopted three years later, when they moved into the Astrodome, the world's first domed sports stadium. The team's nickname reflects Houston's role as the control center of the U.S. space program.
The Astros played in the NL from 1962 to 2012. They played in the West division from 1969 to 1993, and the Central division from 1994 to 2012.
The Astros have played in one World Series (while a member of the National League) in 2005 against the Chicago White Sox, in which they were swept in four games.
Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball league. A total of 30 teams now play in two divisions, the American League (AL) and National League (NL), with 15 teams in each. The AL and NL operated as separate legal entities from 1901 and 1876 respectively, until 2000, when they were merged into a single organization known as Major League Baseball. After cooperating but remaining legally separate entities since 1903, in 2000 the leagues merged into a single organization led by the Commissioner of Baseball. The organization also oversees minor league baseball leagues, which comprise about 240 teams affiliated with the major-league clubs. With the World Baseball Softball Confederation, MLB manages the international World Baseball Classic tournament.
Baseball's first professional team was founded in Cincinnati in 1869. The first few decades of professional baseball were characterized by rivalries between leagues and by players who often jumped from one team or league to another. The period before 1920 in baseball was known as the dead-ball era; players rarely hit home runs during this time. Baseball survived a conspiracy to fix the 1919 World Series, which came to be known as the Black Sox Scandal. The sport rose in popularity in the 1920s, and survived potential downturns during the Great Depression and World War II. Shortly after the war, baseball's color barrier was broken by Jackie Robinson.

Batting practice was frustrating, but lots of other fun stuff happened. I got a high-five from an Astros bullpen catcher, snagged a game-used ball, had a good laugh at my cameraman's expense, and received a pair of lineup cards after the game. Thanks for watching! This video was filmed (on August 29, 2016) and edited by Brandon Sloter. My second game in Houston was much better than the first. I started with a quick visit to the Astrodome, and once I made it over to Minute Maid Park, I snagged more baseballs during batting practice and had nice interactions with a couple of Astros players. This game was played on August 30, 2016. It was filmed and edited by Brandon Sloter. Thanks for watching!

The vid starts with Josh practicing his fastball- I won't bother mentioning where the yellow ball hit!!!!!!! ;) The year 2000 saw something the grand old game of baseball had not experienced since 1964 - a Major League team in Houston playing on natural grass outdoors. While clear skies and real grass were welcome additions for fans, Bayou City hardball faithful also enjoyed another first in Minute Maid Park's 242-foot high, retractable roof. Fans approved the new ballpark overwhelmingly, resulting in a record of more than 3,000,000 fans through the Minute Maid Park turnstiles in the 2000 season. A jewel in the crown of the majestic downtown Houston skyline, Minute Maid Park has become a welcome home for the Houston Astros and has ushered in a new era of Major League sports in the city....

Travel video about destination Niagara Falls. The legendary Niagara Falls is located on the border of the United States and Canada and the dull rumble of its raging waters gave the Niagara River its Indian name of Thundering Water. Travelling at up to fifty kilometres an hour and with several treacherous rapids, the Niagara is one of the world's wildest rivers. A small area of land named Goat Island divides the waters of the Niagara River into two falls, the American Falls and the Canadian Horseshoe Falls .At a width of around seven hundred metres Horseshoe Falls is more than twice as wide as the nearby American Falls. The water plunges fifty-five metres over the cliffs and continuously hollows out the rocks while the misty spray rises overhead and obscures the landscape. An increasing num...
