Michele Zarrillo (born 13 June 1957) is an Italian singer-songwriter. He is mainly known for hits such as "Una rosa blu", "Cinque giorni" and "La notte dei pensieri". In 1987 he won the Sanremo Music Festival, competing in the newcomers' section. Zarrillo took part in the competition several other times, the last time in 2008 with the song "L'ultimo film insieme". As a songwriter, he penned songs for several artists, including Ornella Vanoni and Renato Zero.

Biography

Zarrillo debuted as a musician in the 1970s, when he started playing guitar in the band Semiramis. In 1973, the band released the album Dedicato a Frazz. Meanwhile, he wrote songs for popular Italian artists, including Ornella Vanoni and Renato Zero.

In 1982 Zarrillo competed as a soloist at the Sanremo Music Festival performing the song "Su quel pianeta libero". The following year he competed for the second time singing "Una rosa blu", but was eliminated on the first night of the show. The song was re-released in 1997 and become a hit in Italy. "Una rosa blu" was also included in Zarrillo's debut album, Sarabanda, released in 1982.

Grazia Di Michele (born 9 October 1955) is an Italian singer-songwriter.

Life and career

Born Maria Grazia Di Michele in Rome, at very young age, she founded with Chiara Scotti and Clelia Lamorgese "L'Ape di Vetro" ("The Glass Bee"), a politically inspired musical group which disbanded after a few years.

She debuted as a solo singer at Folkstudio, a music venue in Rome, in 1977. In those years she also worked in a cultural club in Rome, the "Johann Sebastian Bar", and worked as a disc jockey in radio.

Her first album Cliché, characterized by provocative lyrics about feminist and social themes, was released in 1978. In 1983 she released the album Ragiona col cuore, of which the title track tells the story of a lesbian love, then in 1986 she got her first and major commercial success with the single "Le ragazze di Gauguin" and with the album with the same name. Between 1990 and 1993 she entered the Sanremo Music Festival three times, ranking third in 1993 with "Gli amori diversi", a duet with Rossana Casale.

A greatest hits album, sometimes called a "best of" album or a catalog album, is a compilation of songs by a particular artist or band. Most often the track list contains previously released recordings with a high degree of notability. Some greatest hits albums are released only at the end of the artist or group's career. For example, My Chemical Romance released a greatest hits album after they disbanded. Other artists, like Eminem have released hits albums in the center of their success. He released Curtain Call: The Hits in 2005 and then Shady XV as a compilation album in 2014.
